So there used to be a tradition in Scotland, when you got married the groom’s parents would pay to have the brides teeth all pulled and false ones done either dentures or later screwed in individual teeth. The original idea was that they were paying for “perfect teeth” to save the couple money on dentistry throughout their marriage/life. Mad practice but my Nan actually had this as her wedding gift, absolutely traumatised her from going to the dentist as the guy was a bit of a butcher and used no pain relief and had her literally strapped down. Luckily I think from then she had I think 3/4 dental visits in the rest of her life for repairs so it kind of worked, she probably should have had them all replaced over the years but yeah worked out for her long term I guess

6:26 this is ironically really relevant for me. I have a permanent retainer specifically on the back of my two front teeth due to those two wanting to move at all times, and even not having it for a couple hours can cause them to start splitting apart again. I had to get it removed recently to get a cavity on one of my front teeth fixed, and I have to get my permanent retainer back on now to prevent them from splitting apart again.

That bruising was nothin Both my lower wisdom teeth were impacted and I had a yellow bruise from my cheeks all the way down to the first few inches of my chest! Suffered zero complications and was still the worst thing I ever had to go through.

Sorry Bentist you were in the wrong. Sharp canines are definitely cute, and probably influenced by twilight/vampires but i love love love my pointies. And for someone who says that you hate how peopel file down their teeth just for veneers, because you only have one real set...youre basically doing the same filing down their canines?! id have sued if you filed them down without approval. How dare you make the generalisation that ladies look better with rounded canines and men with sharp canines. Thats your personal opinion and nothing to do with what the person actually wants. The drill doesn't hurt?😂😂 I've had a lot of dental work done and can confirm that it's extremely painful! It's like a punch, electronic shock and a burning pain all at once. Also, it is very painful for several days after.

When my orthodontist shaved down my canines, he did it without asking, and I was SO angry. I thought my extra pointy canines were so cool. Like, I had the pointiest canines I've ever seen on a human being, we're talking legit *_fangs_* here. I was so proud of them. And then my orthodontist just shaved them off without asking. I'm still pissed, nearly 20 years later.

I actually wore retainers and braces for 6.5 yrs. My top jaw the two rows of teeth almost touched, very little roof of my mouth. And I had to wear a haymaker, awful, piecing my teeth with five little needles was awful, and after growing three sets of teeth I had 6 wisdom teeth pulled at once, still sleep with sugarless gum every night. But I think I was switched to gum to get me off aggressive thumb sucking, and the haymaker helped with my tongue thrusting. Still have awful sinus issues 50 yrs later so the debate about which came first, sinus issues or thumb sucking still fascinates me. I graduated high school in 1985 so there have been amazing advancements!

pointy canines is um.. i kind of secretly found it more attractive, pretty much my entire life, but not because of vampires or anything like that.. but just because fangs are cool. like, for the same reason I think spiders are cool, or some people like snakes, etc. They are scary or frightening, and that is exciting. Seeing fangs is exciting...by design. It's a normal thing. I mean, sure, not everyone is going to find them attractive. I don't think it's sexual or anything like that. I just like fangs because they are cool and exciting. I think most people are kind of the same way, whether they realize it or not. That doesn't mean I would go out to get fangs, or that I wouldn't find people who do very cheesy/corny. But naturally pointy canines can be very attractive.

About 30 yrs ago i had both top wisdom teeth removed at one time.(i learned sometime later i never got my bottom wisdom teeth). My dentist had to pull really hard to get them out. His face turned red and his face was 'twisted'.😡 The next day i had a headache just across my forehead and both my front teeth felt like they'd been bashed in. The dentist gave me Tylenol #3w/codiene. It did not help the pain i may as well heve eaten candy pills. The pain stopped in two weeks. I eventually gave up chewing gum bc EVERY time after i chewed a few minutes all of a sudden I'd bite my cheek hard and out went the gum. I'm not sure why but in the last few years I've needed 2 top teeth pulled and after that i can chew gum and not bite my cheek. My brother-in-law and my nephew never got their mouth numbed when they had their teeth. My b-i-l said why? You just have to wait for the numb to wear off. My nephew hated needles. They probly had a high pain threshold. Me and one of my sisters agree on 'shots'. Numb it numb then numb it some more. Im a big baby when it comes to pain.

Wow, I'm glad I watched this video before thinking about going to see a dentist because now I know to take precautions to avoid getting a lunatic dentist who thinks it's okay to modify people's bodies for aesthetic purposes without their consent. What kind of freak just does that? Sure, let's just assault people because their teeth aren't perfect. Lovely. Glad to know that while I'm just trying to keep my teeth healthy I have to worry about the possibility of some antisocial weirdo permanently altering my appearance on a whim so I look more attractive to them personally. That's not even to mention how such an act would be a religious violation for many people. Absolutely abhorrent. Doing such a thing should get one's license revoked for life. Imagine a surgeon sewing up a woman's torso after an appendectomy and deciding to do some reduction mammoplasty while she's still under to make her look "cuter". I'd be seeking revenge after that.
