Aimee Mann was like a supermodel who had a voice of an angel and could play bass better than most who were in famous bands and she could write such lovely songs. Too bad the masses are too stupid to recognise true talent, us real fans of beautiful music will always be there to show willing listeners what good music really is.
@Deejaay83urj38 Жыл бұрын
Yes, she has a good voice, but do you expect we used to the brilliant talent of the 60s and 70s to endure that atrocious, shockingly banal drumming. I can't even endure the noise to finish talking
@dannyjingu Жыл бұрын
@Dawn Johnson I can understand that if you prefer the sound of those eras, that drumming that bothers you was a hot sound in the 80's, which now helps make it sound dated. I can't fully blame an artist for following a trend, especially when it fits their specific sound.

Actually it was a big 1st hit for Til' Tuesday here in New England with constant radio air play. Being from Massachusetts like Til' Tuesday it was a hit single. MTV wanted 2 songs submitted for a possible choosing of a video. This and Voices Carry were submitted and MTV chose Voices Carry for airplay.

she is so attractive I can't even deal
@uvp50007 жыл бұрын
If this is a recent picture of you, don't sell yourself short - I think you're more attractive than Aimee. Besides, what's makes someone alluring is so much more than appearance. In Aimee Mann's case, her songwriting and performing talents go a long way toward attracting people.
@uvp50007 жыл бұрын
@djordje Knezevic - No, I'm not kidding. I'm also articulating my own taste and not claiming it as anything other than my own. I respect your position as well - I have many of my own. I will say that between Aimee Mann and Neko Case, there is something about singer/songwriters born on September 08th (Pink as well) that has quite the effect on me. All of their respective voices seem to strike a chord in me. Besides, my personal tastes in women are generally brunettes and redheads (not that redheads are healthy for me) - I think I can count on two fingers the number of blondes I've dated. And yes, Aimee is also quite attractive herself (not that my opinion truly matters to anyone else). I've seen her live and close up twice and what makes her who she is goes far beyond her attractive, statuesque appearance.

I had the extreme good fortune to be behind the sound board in the 80's in the Boston/RI scene. Amy was always wonderful to work with, even when we were the warm up band. Many Boston bands were jerks just because they could be. Then they started to show up in clubs where I was. More than one Boston soundman became my buddy cuz I got to f--k their band so hard they had to pay their sound guy $$$ to come to RI. But I always worked with them as they made my life easier up in Beantown. It was all good. Too bad there is nothing of Robert Hunters band Ultra Blue. Post TT, it was a killer blues band.
