Tile countertops are so 1980
@daltonlopez462313 күн бұрын
They make tiles very large these days. You could use 1 tile and miter the edges so it looks like one monolithic piece.
@garagekeys12 күн бұрын
You must have just got out of prison from the 1980s cause today they have large format tiles , one tile can cover the whole top

Unecessary. Tile can just stick to plywood . You’re not trying to make that waterproof
@Blue_Rose19738 күн бұрын
Why wouldn’t you? It’s a bathroom sink.

@@Blue_Rose1973the tile will be enough for use in bathroom. Youre not constantly splashing the water on the countertop like a shower wall. Do you even know what go board is used for.

It is a sink countertop. It will get wet plenty of times I’m sure. I put backer on mine and I have kids that wet it constantly. It’s always best to use backer unless it’s a wall other than a shower. You obviously have no idea what you’re talking about and giving bad advice is even worse.

@@Blue_Rose1973lol im not giving any advice , im just saying using a waterproofing underlayment is not necessary . A countertop get splashes but you’re not getting it wet like you in a shower. Pros use concrete backer for tile countertop as a way to attach it not for waterproofing. Just because you do a few diy jobs doesn’t make you an expert. I do know what I’m talking about, I have been building homes before all of these water proofing underlayment membrane became available for diyers and home owners. Even before backboards were used. A tile countertop will never get water penetration because you’re only getting splashes and drops which the tile is already resistant to that. Things dry up on a countertop before it can even get absorbed through the grout lines. A shower is different ! You obviously know nothing
