I just did the same thing this fall with 1200' of frontage on my property, minus the ventrac. When we built we cut into the top of the property and it re configured the way water ran to the ditch. After about 10 years of pounding through it rutting it out with a 1200 lb ZTR I had had enough. We took a BUNCH off the crown on mine to bring it down probably a foot and a half. A few hundred pounds of seed straw and water and it's a dream now!

Starting my own small lot land clearing business (5 acres or less, Anything too small for a dozer or excavator) with a 1025R and and the backhoe. Really looking like a good tiller will let me give customers a residential finished job. Just seed and water and you have a lawn from bruushland/cactus/thorn bushes/ South Texas. Side note, I have a X350 in the shop right now for an engine replacement (work at a JD dealership in the lawn division) PLEASE check your engine oil before every use!

Could a French drain with a couple surface box drains do a better job without having to have a huge ditch in the middle of the yard? Is the water that comes through all rain water or are there any chemicals coming from the sod farm? Thinking a water storage tank would be nice too! The tiller is definitely needed if you don’t remove sod by other means. I find my 755 is tippier when the tiller is in contact with the ground. It actually needs to be slightly lifted to actually help the center of gravity and stability. One of my customers does extreme hilling in his garden throughout the year. My tractor can’t fit straight in and out, and when I was getting in and tried dropping the tiller it would pick up one of the rear tires. I ended up having to till the top off the hills going cross ways before it got flat enough to run back and forth the long way.

You should load your tires and/or install wheel weights....and maybe put in spacers too. It made a world of difference on my 2520r when I put in 2-300 lbs of RV antifreeze in each rear tire and swapped the wheels to the widest position...which only netted me about 1.5” per side. But that helped a lot. I dropped the rear tire pressure to 7psi...that along with the fluid, actually made it ride much smoother.

I have learned so much from your channel! I have made several purchases based on your reviews. Would you consider doing a video on using your tractor-loader-backhoe (TLB)? I plan on removing some tree stumps on a fairly big hill and unsure if it is safer to have the loader downhill or uphill. I have seen some videos on how to use the TLB at the base of a hill but not actually on a hill. Thank you again for your advice, reviews and how to videos!

I like to work 'below' the stump if possible...tractor facing downhill, backhoe facing uphill. Not sure why, really, but this is how I would start. Having said that, to remove stumps of any decent size, you'll have to move all the way around the stump, digging some from many different angles. It is not easy to remove a decent sized (or large) stump with a compact tractor backhoe.

Generally, placing culverts side by side is a bad idea, but, seeing as the debris would be very minimal, it shouldn't have the normal issues. You would want to straighten out the curves as much as possible. Lined culvert will bend, but takes a bit of effort, and dirt. LOL
@mikegraziano1562

It's kind of hard to tell from the video but it looks like you ended up with dirt right up to the siding of the house and covering the foundation, there should be at least 6' of foundation showing. The two reasons are 1. So termites will be less likely to make a mud tunnel up to the siding and 2. To keep snow from melting and wicking up the siding thus rotting it out. When the dirt is right up to the siding the wood wicks the water up & never really dries out and it will rot it out.

I don't pretend to know where this was filmed, but my parents house not far south of Indianapolis has similar issues. A ditch through two fields has a culvert under the road directly in front of their house, through their front yard. Most of the year, the culvert is home to a handful of frogs and a fish or two, but if we get a serious snowstorm, the first warm day after that will see their yard turn into a lake. Part of the problem seems to be that the next "downstream" neighbor dammed up the ditch on his side to build a pond. This works for most of the year, but every March/April there is insufficient drainage to carry the water, and for much of the early part of the summer, the ground is so saturated they can't mow even with "floater" tires or tracked mowers. Steadily throughout the middle of the summer, they can usually mow one or two passes deeper into it every week until finally around the first of September they can mow across it without having to add pontoons :) It only takes a storm of an inch of rain or so to flood out this culvert and fill up their yard and hay field. Their part of Indiana gets around 48 inches of water per year when you include the snow melt, and we can sometimes get up to a quarter of that in a single storm. While it isn't quite as flat as up near Tim's house, it is "elevationally challenged" down here :)
@Harry-zz2oh
@Harry-zz2oh 2 жыл бұрын
@@brentkreinop489 Perhaps they can talk to the neighbor and allow a pipe to be installed at the end of their property going into the pond. Install a grate on it to keep the debris out but let the overflow get out of the yard. Some locations (I don't know about Indiana) have codes which prevent anyone from blocking off a drainage canal or channel unless a new exit is also installed. You might check on it to find out for sure.
@brentkreinop489
@brentkreinop489 2 жыл бұрын
@@Harry-zz2oh They've already checked with the local authorities about it to no real response. They did get the county to fix part of it so that it doesn't back up the water in one of the fields, and to fix their driveway entrance because it was washing out half their driveway. To have a pipe big enough to carry the amount of water they need to remove, it would be big enough for them to walk through without crouching. I might have to duck a little. It might be that we end up making a new ditch elsewhere. The next biggest problem is that they're not far from a shallow part of the local river. Fixing the pond problem will help some, and may take care of a few more storms, but eventually, there just isn't enough places for the water to go quickly.
@Harry-zz2oh
@Harry-zz2oh 2 жыл бұрын
@@brentkreinop489 If you needed the water then you could dig a pond for it but it looks like you get a lot of water as it is. You've done the best you could. I know, sometimes it isn't enough. I live in a desert area with a rainfall/snowfall of about 7 inches per year. So far this year we've had about five inches. My well is drilled down to 150 ft and the pump is drawing from 95 feet. The Rio Grande is currently dry and it will be until April or May of 2022. I really wish we could obtain some of the water which is overflow in the midwest states so we could refill our lakes. The closest lake will hold 2.5 million acre-ft. of water but currently it only has about 138,000 acre feet.

Why is he draining the farms water to begin with?

Common enemy water law. You must accept water which would naturally flow onto your property. Likewise, the neighbor must accept water which would naturally flow onto their property. You see both sides of the issue in this one video. Dan must accept it, then neighbor must accept it again on the outbound side. Frankly, this is the only equitable way to deal with water drainage.

@@TractorTimewithTim I agree. Otherwise one person would be "stuck" with all the overflow. They would then be living in a waterlogged house.

Tim you should hang on to your tractor for more than a year in fact you should hang on to it for let's say 10 years so you can experience the joy of John Deere no longer supporting your tractor.

I am a fan of your videos, but wow the list of AD links in the description, merch, pushing of china made equipment (maschio), and in video AD (trying to sell us simplysafe) is getting old. It's starting to feel like commercials. Seriously I know you need to make money, but cut down on the ADs and sponsorships. It's not genuine even though maybe you got some people fooled.

Maschio is Italian company. Only 6 SimpliSafe inserts in ALL of 2021…and we’ve tried to make them fun. Not sure what is not genuine about our content. We tell the positives and negatives of equipment. We show it working, and we show when we have issues. If you were to come to our house, you would see the same thing. Nothing hidden. Many folks who have been in our videos will attest to that. In fact, we tried a product last week …had the video half shot…then pulled the plug. Product just doesn’t work…no matter how hard we tried to configure it…so we will not show it. Watch closely. You’ll see that we are true to our word. One more point on SimpliSafe. Since it is not tractor specific, it has zero impact on our channel content. We thought this would be obvious. We think it makes our channel even MORE genuine since they have no care about our opinions on tractors and attachments. Appreciate you watching, and appreciate your feedback.

Really just a few simplisafe AD? I swear every since video I recall seeing recently had it in there somewhere. I only watch based on search or recommendations so maybe youtube is responsible for somehow feeding me videos that happen to have the AD. Maschio is an Italian company yes. But those lower end implements for compact tractors are sub'd out and MADE IN CHINA by the same manufactures that make other brands. Sure they might work fine, but my point is why are you pushing this brand? They send you the stuff for free in exchange for that? Why not show the strengths and weaknesses of other brands (pref made in the usa). Also I can't help but wonder you're pushing the John Deere brand because they cut you a deal or an agreement on one of their tractors (unlike Kubota). Then you got videos of talking to people at shows, then their gear appears in your channels. Same for Ventrac etc... maybe you're meaning to be genuine, but stepping back and looking at the pattern, it's hard NOT to think that. In comparison, other channels don't do this (AKA guy bought gear with his money and posts his honest opinion about it)...honestly the older videos you had were far more genuine i guess this is what happens when you get bigger.

Yep. 6 1-2 minute spots from SimpliSafe all year. ...out of 120-140 15-25 minute episodes.. It is clear that you don't watch many of our videos, which is fine. Now, addressing your other comments. If you watch many of our videos, we make it VERY clear we are partnered with Ventrac, Maschio, our local Deere dealer AHW LLC, and many other suppliers. We have done NOTHING to hide that. It is listed on our website and discussed in our videos. When we show something which has a "code TTWT" option, that is obviously a sponsored product. ...at least we THINK it is obvious. Again, we do not try to hide it. Having said that, if you were watch more of our videos, you would see that we speak bluntly and directly (not always positively) about each product we use...sponsored or NOT. We are "genuine" in that we disclose our partnerships, and we speak honestly about the products we show. I will not apologize for our success in this endeavor. Manufacturers partner with us BECAUSE we are honest. They know our reviews won't be 100% positive, yet they also know that we will be fair. Our loyal viewers have the same expectations. Of course, some are envious. I understand that. It is by necessity sort of a "showy' occupation. For that reason, we double our efforts to show humility, mistakes, and overall remind people that we are just a couple enjoying our later working years together while sharing them with you for your entertainment. We would welcome you to join in and watch more of our videos so that you would get to know us better. I suspect your opinion would change if you watched every episode rather than just the few that get promoted by the whacky KZbin algorithm. However, if you think we're not honest, then there might not be much we can do about it. Either way, we wish you well. Tim

I guess you guys don’t have concerns with Miss Utility, and land disturber permits. You can only have one encounter between a tiller, and a buried power line.

@@TractorTimewithTim The comment was about living in a rural area, where there is still a lot of farmland being worked, the power lines are overhead, and the plumbing is well water and septic tanks. If I made an assumption, it was about the type of utilities you are dealing with in a rural environment. Regardless, I have unsubscribed, and won’t be viewing, or commenting on your videos.

How did my response cause you to unsubscribe, no longer watch, etc? I don’t get it. I don’t see my response as rude, I don’t see our interaction as negative at all. Is it not possible to have a discussion without getting angry and stomping off? I’m quite confused. Your first comment says buried power line, your last comment says you assumed overhead power lines??? I’m not trying to pick a fight, I just want to understand why you blew a gasket, and understand your actual point.
