If the needle will not hold 5# of pressure the saw will run as rich as a dog. Plus any gas in the carb will drain back into the gas tank overnight, making the saw difficult to crank the next morning.

I have a tilliston Hr7a I rebuilt completely and it idles pretty well on full choke maybe a little high but when I turn he choke off it basically runs wide open with the throttle still closed any ideas?

COULD you SOAK IT IN WATER AND SOL OIL the be a short term fix

It just might...if I can't get the cork sealed up, I may go that route. First I have to wait for the screen to come in; the only source I could find a t a reasonable price was in Canada!
