I thought I had a really unusual hobby when I became fascinated with wooden roller coasters in the early 1980s. I joined a then-new club (American Coaster Enthusiasts) and was among the first 800 members (now well over 12,000 I think). I've traveled the world riding coasters & have a count of hundreds. Now I have enjoyed watching mouse/rat trap videos and realize there's a lot of other really unusual hobbies out there. Mouse/rat trap hobbyists...wow. I love it! I really love watching videos of especially the old, historical traps that still work, and work well. Awesome videos, keep it up!

the only problem with this mechanism is that, it only catches one rat at a time, compared to the rolling rod.

Pretty cool, try building this with some PVC pipe with multiple ports, with snares on each port. Like a wide tooth comb shape with 3-5 ports. You should be able to get more than one rat/mouse at time if the device is secured to a piece of plywood to prevent it from moving when the trap is sprung.

Primitive trap videos nearly always leave me bewildered at how they really work. You did not show the 100:1 leverage behind the engine's tension at the holder loop, & the little stick at that end.

How the fuck? I was watching videos about i3 i5 and i7's, Lenovo l412 and upgrading your SSD.... and this is where I end up. on that note the Log roll trap seemed more efficient and caught more. catching 1 rat and not being able to reuse that trap till the next day seems tedious.
