Steel construction instead of aluminum means it would take 2 football players to install on your receiver. Overall it looks to be a real PITA to operate even for someone not disabled.

We made it out of steel so they will be less likely to bend like every aluminum ramp I have ever purchased for my atv. With multiple batteries these scooters can get really heavy and I do not trust that kind of weight bouncing around on an aluminum frame. If you watch the video all the way to the end you can see that it breaks down into 3 pieces without using any tools to make it easier to handle.(No 2 football players needed). Though what we see in most cases is that this is a daily use device that never comes off the vehicle.

The dimensions of the unit are 26.5" wide by 48" long(measured how you would drive the wheel chair onto the unit)... It weighs about 150 lbs unloaded.

Any reason the wheelchair can’t be backed onto the flat ramp on the ground and then pull it straight off? My controls are on right hand side otherwise my wife can’t reach to the trunk side.

The Wheelchair can driven forward or backward onto the ramp...whichever works best for you.

I get that and I think it's great that you're offering a more affordable lift. I do have a question though, if the scooter/power chair will come down the ramp at a tilt will it also support taking it up at a tilt the same way taking an extra step out of the loading, basically working like a ramp? It was not my intent to knock your lift but to make people think. Some disabled, myself included, think they can do more than they can or should do. Also, what class hitch does it require?

Yes, if your scooter will go up the ramp without leveling it out you can skip that step... but certain types of scooters have trouble making the transition to such a steep incline(the drive wheel cannot make good contact with the ground because of the safety wheels on the back) which is why we added this feature. The class hitch you need depends on the weight of your scooter. Our unit weighs 125 lbs. A class 1 hitch is rated to hold 200 lbs, class 2 300 lbs, class 3 500 lbs...

The wheelchair in this video is about 23" wide. The unit can support a chair that is 26.5" at its widest and either 40" or 48" at its longest.

This product is designed an affordable option for those who are physically able or have someone who can help them that is physically able to operate it. If the physical requirement is above what someone is able or willing to do there are many other products out there that are better built for those situations. Unfortunately those features normally come at a much greater cost.
