Hot Take: Mauga isn’t terrible, his idea is great, tanks being able to self sustain is a massive upgrade compared to the roster, it’s the entire reason Roadhog has always stayed someone relevant in comp, hog just takes a lot more skill to play, but the problem with Mauga, is that he counter’s tank, or anyone with a bigger hitbox as he heals by damage, and unless he is being hard focused by your entire team, he will always win the 1v1, he is a brawler type of support, he runs in and hurts stuff, and while everyone is looking at him his team can come in and pick off everyone one by one, because everytime he presses his self heal he is basically unkillable if he can land his shots. What they need to do is rework his heal, I don’t think his overall strength is that unbalanced, the problem lies with the fact he can just stand still and not die, they can keep the heal, but they need to change it, instead of life steal, I think he would feel better with increased attack speed, let him skip reload with his ability and give him a flat heal/damage resist with increased attack speed, I mean he has miniguns, I don’t think it would be that hard to make him shoot faster. That way he doesn’t have a get out of jail free card, instead he has a powerful attack card that feels good to use, but can also be countered with good positioning and ability usage, and instead of being basically unkillable, he DOES get healed maybe a flat 150, and to make it even better, just make that overhealth! That way he has to play more with his team instead of just screwing off whenever he feels like it.

I don't know why the devs don't even think about mirror matches when designing heroes sometimes. They were so proud of Orisa rework in the ow2 marketing, why didnt they try a single Orisa mirror once? I feel like it's the same experience pretty much in gold that it is in masters. Same thing w/ Mauga. Idc how cool of a hero they thought they had when thinking of facing a rein or something, idk how they miss the mirrors so hard sometimes on these lame tanks.
