Home Improvement is one of the only shows my family watched together as a child before they divorced. And the last that I saw with my Father before he passed. I wouldn't say it died, they had said enough. And chose to end it. This is still endearing and hilarious to me, it has a special place in my heart and fall asleep to it often.

grew up watching home improvement re-runs on FOX around the time it was on its last season on ABC, coming home from school like 7th - 8th grade. FOX ran such a great block of television after school: Simpsons, Home Improvement, Seinfleld, etc.. Late 90s/early 00's as a fuckin kid with his own TV, great times.

Ok you negative people, you have to understand that when Tim Allen was doing his standup back then, the grunting and all was something very new and off the wall which is part of the reason it was so funny. No one expected it, or the subjects he spoke about. The 80's were a nice time to be alive! Of course there were problems, but not like there have been since. His jokes come from a place of lightheartedness because that was the atmosphere in that time.
@Bulletproof_Trump10 ай бұрын
Yeah, 80s were a wonderful time. People weren't grafted to their electronics, and jokes were allowed. Truly the golden age

Loved him as Tim "The Toolman" Taylor, and the way he always repeated the quotes in a wrong way from Wilson, when they had their conversations at the fence. "Like that Chinese boy, who smelled his own yogurt ", and "you can teach a fish how to dance, but once it's old, you're stuck with it"😅

I saw Tim on HBO/Showtime stand-up when he started out in the 80's. I knew this guy was going places. I made sure to watch his future stand-up appearances when I could. I refused to watch Home Improvement, however... not because of him... because bad language was still censored on network TV, even though he didn't use it much, it still often took away from the impact of the humor when cut out or the act was slightly altered to PG. This is a PG performance. CHECK OUT UNCENSORED Rodney Dangerfield's 1989 TV special, "Opening Night at Rodney's Place."
