Looking back at this show as an adult, I love that they never made either one of them saints. Both were flawed, both had real and open discussions with each other. Tim was a fool, but he wasn't an actual idiot. He treated his wife like a person. They put real work into their relationship. The writers realized relationships are about loyalty to each other above all else.

Like BlueMandMlover says, Tim and Pat have incredible chemistry. They are my favorite TV couple ever. The show has so much heart mainly because of how good they are together. As JR Specht said, growing up, I wished Tim and Jill were my parents. Now as a parent myself, I hope I can be at least half as awesome as they were.
