I was at this game with my Dad. We had OSU fans behind us talking trash about Eddie George. They were quiet by halftime and left after Biakabatukas TD. I named my dog after Tim. One of my fondest memories

I love Tim! When I was basically a baby and just getting into football after my dad told me about Barry Sanders, hilariously and randomly Tim became my first favorite NFL running back. He had an insane first 2 games in 99 and even tho he feel off I’ll never forget it. I love stories like this, about a dude who came and went in the blink of an eye and are only Remembered by a few, but those who remember them have this sort of special memory bond. Tshimanga is the man! Hopefully anther zainian player makes it!

Growing up in Ann Arbor I was lucky enough to go to pretty much every home game from 1990-2000 with my dad who is an alum from 1970( and yes he was at THAT game as a student in 1969)After this game my 12 year old self found a sign that said ABC: Another Buckeye Championship. I proceeded to hold it up to the OSU band and got quite reaction. My dad still probably recounts this to me at least once a year to say how much he loved it. Probably my favorite football memory with him besides Desmond's Heisman pose and the 1998 Rose Bowl (which was surreal). Also, my dad and I really really miss John Cooper, our all tike favorite coach!

He'll always be remembered for this highlight, Tim Biakabutuka now owns his own jewelry store in North Carolina which has a Christian theme. Tim is a gracious god-fearing man who is frustrated with might have been but remains spiritual. I hear that he is still single and always roots for the Carolina Panthers on Sunday.

Heros get remembered, but legends never die.. biakabutuka was a legend on this day and forever cemented himself in Wolverine lore. Rushing for over 300 plus yards.. In this day and age, very rarely will you see a team, let alone a single player rush for over 300 yards against the number#1 ranked team in the country... Let alone any ranked team for that matter! This was an absolute beast mode of a performance!

In Brandstatter's book they say that the offensive line basically led a mutiny against the offensive coordinators because they kept calling passes, which kept getting intercepted, which kept ruining Biakabutuka's efforts. Then in the second half they decided to screw it and turn Biakabutuka loose. Run the ball. Damn straight.

@7:05 Is the run I remember the most from that day. That run with him breaking tackles and then carrying the two Buckeye DBs for 15 yards stood out amongst the others on his legendary day. "Touchdown Tim" looked like the Heisman RB not Eddie George, "Eddie Who?" is what he looked like next to Biakabutuka. Also, major credit must go to that O Line.

This game is one of my fondest memories. Seeing it again brings them all back. What a performance, what a big win. It didnt hurt that his O-line had Runyan, Jansen and Adami, one of the best lines in Michigan history, IMO.

You can see the Buckeye's defense just getting pissed. They are soooooo frustrated. They just can't stop him. And even when they get to him. Biakabutuka's stiff-arming guys off him, making guys miss tackles, and lowering his helmet and putting his tacklers face-first into the dirt.

Biakabutuka didn't eclipse Ron Johnson's single-game rushing record, but doing what he did against to$u, especially coming in with their undefeated record, Eddie George was a couple of weeks away from winning the Heisman and Terry Glenn's dumbass remarks made this all the more sweet. Herculean effort.
@Jon.A.Scholt2 жыл бұрын
Us Wolverine fans were very spoiled with RB talent from the late 80s to early 2000s. Think, Jamie Morris, Tyrone Wheatley, Biakabutuka, Anthony Thomas, Chris Perry, Mike Hart. Then there were other good backs sprinkled in too; Ricky Powers, Leeroy Hoard, Chris Howard was great when A Train was still only a freshman during that '97 season, BJ Askew led the team in rushing in that one year gap between A Train and Perry. I could also do a list like this for the WRs, but I'll leave it with just the RBs. Though I'd like to mention some of the great Full backs like Chris Floyd and Aaron Shea(who was sort of an HB actually since he played a bit of a TE roll too). Go Blue!
@xrandy119 ай бұрын
There was a guy named Jessie Johnson during that time period too. Remember him? He would come off the bench and run all over tired defenses. He did something to get in Moeller's doghouse though and suddenly he was taken out of the rotation.

Anyone else remember in 1999 when this dude had like 4 long touchdown runs in the first 2 weeks of the season? He became the first planther with 2 60 yarders in the same game and then the next week against the skins had one over 60 and another for 45! I think peolle might see him as a bust for being drafted at 8 and after rushing for 1800 yards and 313 against Undefeated Ohio state, but I feel like Tim did pretty good considering how often he was injured. He rushed for over 2000 yards and scored close to 15 pro touchdowns in only like 5 or 6 years so I’d say he had a pretty decent NfL career for someone that no one as young as me seems to remember
