Now I'm crying my eyes out in my room in the middle of the day! I honestly relate so much to Tim Burton's characters. Some people tell me that his movies/characters are weird and creepy. For me, they show such meaning and comfort. I feel like others honestly aren't in this world of loneliness, solitude, weirdness, introverted and that is why they don't understand it. I love to escape and stay in the world of Tim Burton.

I've seen so many videos on youtube lately where people bash Tim Burton for all kinds of untrue reasons. It made me feel sad to see people who don't even try to understand why his movies are important to so many. So instead of going in the comments there and calling them stupid or ignorant(as we do nowadays), I thought I'd better come here and thank you for celebrating this man's creative genius. So, thank you! Great video.
@KungFuKuya Жыл бұрын
Thank you! Yeah it's "trendy" to negatively bashing, yes maybe Burton is on the hollywood list and even mainstream to some degree, but he has a distinctive style and has a very thoughtful way of approaching cinema. Thanks for watching =) - Øyvind

Wow this was really incredible. A very insightful and in depth look at Burton's work. I myself have always identified with his characters and felt like an outsider. I recently got to fulfill my lifelong dream of meeting Tim in person and I made a video about it on my channel. It was the most important experience of my entire life.

I do credit Burton for having a distinct visual style, and for embracing the stranger side of stories. BUT - I think there are other directors who do it better. I say directors like Wes Anderson and Guillermo Del Toro can direct rings around Burton - in fact, my favorite Burton film, Nightmare, wasn't even directed by Burton - Henry Selick is also a better director. His characters have more depth and his stories have more suspense to them. And Del Toro's misunderstood monsters have so much more pathos to them. Burton has a lot going for him, but unlike Del Toro, he's just not a poet.

@@KungFuKuya Thanks for replying. Thank you for bringing attention to the Greatness that is Tim Burton! He has given us so many Gems that he deserves way more attention that he gets! He basically defined a whole new realm & genre that no one was really tapping into. Hell, he made it cool to be Dark and different. He helped make it easier for a lot of us here in Detroit to be different and I will always be grateful for that. I sent your video to my cousin and they're big Tim Burton fans so I know they're going to love it! I hope you get what you need to make more videos, you definitely have a gift!!! We will keep watching. Have a great day and keep up the wonderful work!

I can definitely identify and relate to Tim Burton's characters indeed because I felt different from everybody else. I led my own path and not be a follower, I never was in The in crowd doing what everybody else is doing I have a mind of my own. To the point that I felt that I was all alone, don't get me wrong I have friends but for the most part I was mostly alone but that's okay because it gave me a lot of time to think of what kind of person I have become. I remember when I was in school there was this picture of all these red apples and in the middle one green apple and below the picture it said Dare to be different and I was like hey that's me I'm that green apple! So when I see the Tim Burton movies with these different main characters like Beetlejuice, Edward scissorhands, and so on I feel like those characters are me.

@KungFuKuya3 жыл бұрын
@@mosesappleby4357 that’s a good point. No he did play a part in the movie during production but it’s true he was just there I think less than a week. But since the director did not have free flow to do whatever he wanted or adding anything that was not TB - it still tilts as “his film” according to Auteur Theory of Cinema. But it’s certainly nuanced and weird at the same time
