This cover was great because of two reasons. The first one is, that you tuned your drum very different (in comparison to the original record), what made it possible to hear your drums easily over the original song. The second one is, that you gave a very own touch, what is not only cool af, but impoves the song. Those two reasons make this cover better than most, who just play exactly what jimmy played (RiP)

@niqitoa7x for this batch of covers we only used the click to count into the song. we bounced the song into pro tools and just lined up a click so that there was 4 or 8 clicks so i knew when to start since there is no intro or anything for me to go by like in most of the other songs.

First off amazing drum cover man i probaly watched it 20 or so times now.. but also your style is awesome you probaly play this song more close to the actual REV than anyone i've seen on youtube.. you should be A7X drummer straight up.. this sounds almost identical to the LBC concert they played like in 08 or something.. you should have way more credit cause all your covers seem flawless. hopefully i'll work my way up to your level one day but is hard to get a nice set when your broke. props bro

@iiRyaaaanXD i'm far from rich bro. those aren't my guitars...it's a studio. i saved my money for a good kit for years. and it's not even a top of the line tama. i didn't edit the video either. i also don't own the mics, the mic stands, the camera it was shot on, protools or the computer it was recorded with. just a struggling musician like everyone else that has to pull some strings to make the best product i can. thanks for holding that against me though as if it made a difference

2/2. Basically, you hook your headphones, computer, and mic's into the compressor, it records all your playing and stuff while you listen to the song and how your drums sound etc. Then pull it up in your audio software and mix it. KZbin has tutorials.

@supercoopers4 its hard to say. learning there songs was kind of just a natural progression from being a huge fan and listening to them a lot. to get it down hit for hit though i'd say a day or two per song depending on the intricacy of the parts.

As far as I know, a really good recording set for drum mic's is the Shure brand. There's an SM 57 for your snare, I think BM or BD or something for your bass, and a couple overheads. Just starting with those 4 will get you going, but you'll likely want to mic your toms asap. Also, you'll need a compressor system and some sort of software on your pc for audio engineering. You're looking at a few hundred bucks, easy. hang on...
