@@pzooka i am sure the way nba is constructed every team with good management and some luck in drafts have a chance to be a real contender one time for each 5 years, some teams with amazing management like the spurs manage to be a good playoff team over lots of years, and other teams like the knicks manage to be bad for many years probably the knicks last peak was that carmelo team and even that, but we cant clown to much the knicks because suddently they can manage to draft someone crazy good or do a splash in free agency or even a nice trade and become contenders for years, for me the first mistake the spurs did in decades was the Leonard trade and the automaticly cost them this years playoffs presence.

The knicks had more than enough talent to win more games in this series. Plus had a very underrated coach in van gundy. Who is in my eyes the possibely the 2nd or 3rd best coach the knicks ever had. Van gundy had more heart an determination to win than most players in the nba. Houston with his 100 millon contract an larry johnson played horrible. If those 2 played elite this series could have been different. Ewing being hurt put alot of pressure on camby an kurt thomas. Going against the twin towers alone. The knicks had their own twin towers in camby an ewing. This series was not lost by coaching, but by players not playing to their elite levels.

What's strange is that the Spurs are a southern team. Duncan and Robinson were nicknamed the " Twin Towers ". Their jersey numbers of 50 and 21 equal 71. The same year that the Southern Tower had it's topping out ceremony July 19, 1971 (71). The Spurs would win IN New York, with both Duncan and Robinson in all black (symbolizing death of the Towers).

better than Lebron for sure beat Lebron 2 out of 3 times and the only loss was by 1 shot while the wins were basically sweeps. Also he was 38 in 2014 while lebron was 30. He sacrificed his game for the team so his stats didn't look fancy. On the other hand Lebron always sacrifices his teammates games for his. Therefore one player translated that into wins the other translated that into stats Another point is that he never built a super team. Lebron arguably had the best help of anyone in NBA history but all that tampering and team building amounted to barely 4 championships. I said barely because 2013 was super close and 2020 Miami lost 2 of their top guys and lebron was playing against JB and rookies.

if ewing was healthy the knicks would’ve won it all. i just got that feeling. he would’ve had that extra motivation and if sprewell was playing like he was… they would’ve pulled off the most improbable championship in the most improbable year ever.

Yeah playing defense now is not getting you any where. The game is suited for offense playing D wouldn't help. It's an offensive league now. A lot of this guys played great d. That doesn't cut it now. If you can't shoot a three you can't play. It's like a cheat code 1 dimensional game now. I agree with you playing inside and running plays doesn't cut it anymore.
