I was in San Antonio back in 2002 with my cousins. We went to see Blade 2 in the theaters around its release in March or April. We were close to the front sitting down, and I turned around to see how many people were in the theater, and guess who I saw, The Big Fundamental, sitting in between 2 body guards watching the same movie I was. Too bad no one had smart phones for selfies at that time. As soon as the movie finished, I looked back and saw him and the guards exiting before anyone else left. Truly like a lochness monster sighting. No one believed us, but I will always have the memory of watching Blade 2 with buddy Tim Duncan. 😂

In 2009 I met Tim Duncan briefly. We were at the Bayfront Lodge in Erie, Pennsylvania celebrating my parents 50th wedding anniversary. Tim was walking through the lobby with his wife and his little kids. Rode elevator up with them, told him good luck on upcoming season, he was very quiet, cordial. Was about it. Seemed to be shyness to him. Nice man.

Love this interview. Tim Duncan was himself. Dry and blunt. Which makes me like him more than ever. Because he was himself. It is simple people. Be you, not someone else, and most likely ppl will like you.

I'm an NBA fan but not a fanatic, if that makes sense. I came here to see the human side of Tim Duncan because he had such a quiet, stoic demeanor; never really smiling. I was not disappointed. I was both thrown off and humbled by his hairdo. This guy is such an enigma.

Look up a different video, where B. Bowen interviews Timmy at his car shop in SA, like 3-4 years after he retired. Their vibe is funny too! I think Timmy always wanted to rock the dreads, but didn't cause he was in the NBA. His brother also has long dreads.

Im a Suns fan so I couldnt stand the Spurs back in the day but I have much respect for Duncan. The man didnt show off, hot dog, talk trash in media interviews or gloat. He just went and became the greatest Power Forward in the game's history.

Best interview hands down 😂😂 was laughing the whole way. Richard and Tim (and Manu and Tony and Horry and Bowen and Green and Robinson… just everyone from 1996 SAS until around 2017) were a part of my first memories of basketball! Special to see it come full circle around like this and knowing that they remained friends after retiring!
