I would have murdered for this raw footage back then. This just shows how innovative powerful and consistent he was. I was inspired back then and landed an am slot with Z. Later I got to skate the Pavilion and walls and they are higher than you think. It was a humbling experience for sure and testament to his skill. Thank you for sharing. ✌☠

I don't know what's more astonishing, the skating or the fact that there are almost no other people, homeless or otherwise, in so many of the shots of Venice. It's like a totally different place.

Thanks for posting this, Literal Street Gold. I was fortunate to skate with Tim and many others in Venice that summer ( '90 ) when this was filmed. No video but I got some great photos from the trip. Seeing how Tim hit his signature move ( along with the pendulum ) first T on the hubba was heavy-- Thanks again!

Born and raised here in Venice and this video had me reminiscing on those days. I was a few years younger than all these guys but man, I clearly remember Tim skating Venice High School and attacking that cafeteria wall like no one else. I literally paused & slo-mo'd Murray's frontside slappy's like 10 times...the dude hits curbs like it's a lip of the wave. Seriously. Thank you for posting this video. Amazing!

My first sighting of TJ was the PhotoAnnual3 wallride to end-rock with his tongue in cheek, and I was stoked and intrigued. Then his Risk It section blew me away...

All those little local Venice spots were skate mecca because we had to take buses out there from east LA.friends would meet at my house and take the bus to downtown/wilshire Blvd too. We’d skate there for about 2-3 hrs then get another bus transfer to melsrose/Fairfax and skate there for a few hrs. Then either skate all the way to beach or get another bus. Then get to Venice or SAMO skate there a few hrs, then all reverse till got back home. Many adventures along the way some joyful, memorable, exciting, dangerous...like the Warriors lol. I got to see the old pavilion still up and many bad ass skaters. Legendary Crail Snatchers!! I had a perfect pedestrian bridge to try those on too.

Few things: 1. This is amazing to see. I can’t believe this has been uploaded. True Venice vibes, I miss that place. 2. It’s so cool to see all the footage of Butch Sterbins. Huge fan of his skating and style. There wasn’t enough footage of him back then. 3. I legit thought Aaron Murray was on cell phone for a second at 39:38 4. I wonder who the dude wearing the Indico Posse sweatshirt is? 5. In the past 5 months, I’ve skated twice. Because of this video, I’m skating a curb this weekend.
