Here is a performance of a piece using only the amplified sound of the TK Smith Archtop Pickup. Both parts were recorded with a mic in front of the amp with no "acoustic" sound bleeding in.
The Guitar is a 1939 Epiphone Broadway with roundwound strings into a Henriksen Bud 10

What a great tone! And great playing by Tim as usual! I checked the TK Smith site and couldn't find that pickup. Is that a floater? Something TK custom builds? On the site I see his C.A.R. amazing thing, a CCII, and a Tele bridge pickup. That's the only pickups. Nothing archtop. If that's a floater, I might add it to my '47 L7! Thanks for the video, Tim! I was at GIT in 1983. You do our alma mater proud!

Beautiful. I dig the solo pickup sound - maybe blending with an acoustic pickup - but I prefer not to hear a mic on archtops myself as I believe it just adds squeaks and distractions. Thanks for the lessons.
