We just used this as our song at our wedding. It was such an amazing choice that no one was ready for. It was perfect!

I cannot understate how many times I have heard this song. For the time that I was with my daughter we incorporated this song EVERY night. She would sing it, I would sing it, we would listen to it and sometimes sing along. I’ve hardly seen her in four years and I still can hardly listen to my favorite song without breaking down crying. My wife knows Rise is my favorite band; she has treated me to each concert near us since we’ve been together, the best one was on (day of, not near or weekend of) my birthday in Chicago when they toured for Ghost Notes Symphonies. I just wish I could convey to Tim how much this single song after all these years has had such an impact on my life.

I know it can be hard to accept but If she left you, she probably isn't the love of your life. Love will find you again.

Am I loud and clear, or am I breaking up? Am I still your charm, or am I just bad luck? Are we getting closer, or are we just getting more lost? I'll show you mine if you show me yours first Let's compare scars, I'll tell you whose is worse Let's unwrite these pages and replace them with our own words We live on front porches and swing life away We get by just fine here on minimum wage If love is a labor, I'll slave 'til the end I won't cross these streets until you hold my hand I've been here so long, I think that it's time to move The winter's so cold, summer's over too soon So let's pack our bags and settle down where palm trees grow I've got some friends, some that I hardly know But we've had some times, I wouldn't trade for the world We chase these days down with talks of the places that we will go We live on front porches and swing life away We get by just fine here on minimum wage If love is a labor, I'll slave 'til the end I won't cross these streets until you hold my hand Swing life away Swing life away Swing life away Swing life away

I deserve a do-over. I am 43. Been homeless 95% of the time since I was 16. I can honestly say that I HATE my family. They abused me and threw me away as a teenager. I am not complaining. I have NOBODY in this world and I am a friendly, generous, helpful, kind person. My mom said that she was torn about having an abortion when she was pregant with me at 19 years old. She is a "Christian" so she didn't kill me before I even got a chance to breathe my first breath.

@@rogergemelle213 I just listened to it again to be sure, and while I can tell some of it is a not-so-good microphone issue... he definitely sounds... tired? A bit rough here indeed here and there. Maybe it was a long day. Who knows, but it is definitely not his best and that is okay. Maybe you should change your name to "Roger needs to learn proper English" since you want to be an ass-hat.

Really a shame, because this song was my anthem when it came out and I was 16 and rebellious. Not only is he singing too close to the mic and off-key here, his voice is not in sync with his guitar part either, and it's made worse by the fact that he doesn't seem to remember how to play the song. The chords in the chorus are all wrong, and check out that botched ending to the little interlude 😟
