This has got to be the most realistic love song ever. Its not all soppy, its true. Sometimes you don't want to be in love with that person. But you are, and you can't live without them, he works it into the song so well.

I'm of the opinion (since I have a science background), that "love" as humans define it is indeed a complex series of chemical processes within the human body, combined with the desire to feel secure, which stems from the survival instinct. It's biological. But we're such beautiful imaginative creatures, we make it something so much more meaningful. Based on that view, "love" at first sight is not really possible, but can certainly begin to manifest itself straight away.
