Man i love this song. at the start you think oh this is a funny typical Tim song but halfway in you start to get how sweet this song is... as long as your wife has the same humor :D

Tim is a fantastic musician and singer, and his songs are brilliantly written. An excellent entertainer. When he finishes, you then have a song with complex lyrics that you actually need to understand and the analyse.

YO Mike! I’ve missed you!! I’m really sorry to hear about your Dad. Will be thinking of him and you ❤ Only Tim could pull a love-cancer metaphor off. Not sure if you’ve ever done Storm but it is one of his best works, it’s a beat poem and very clever. On his serious side you need to see Play it Safe, a song he was commissioned to write for the Opera House 50th anniversary. ❤

Yo dude. So sorry to hear about your dad. My mum has to stop chemo so the wound where they took her breast a lymph nodes from that armpit will start to finish healing. My best to yours. This is one of my favorite Minchin songs. It’s not only funny from being punny, it’s also genuinely deeply romantic in the I can’t get out of bed if you’re in it, and I feel like I would die if you left me kind of way. If you haven’t already seen it, the Full and Uncut version of ‘If I didn’t Have You’ is hilarious. So is Lullaby.

Sorry to hear about your dad. I saw Tim play this live earlier this year, and before he played it he said that the sincerity of the song starts on a 3, goes to about an 8 and then lands on a 1. I knew exactly which song it was going to be from that description. Lol.

May I suggest trying one of his earlier break out pieces. He performed it at the Montreal comedy festival in 2006 which became his launching pad for his success in the UK. Search for "Tim Minchin "One day you'll be as good as Elton John". Its a 2008 version as its better quality than the 2006 versions I can find.
