It's literally insanity, he's arguing for a pollical monopoly. The system he proposes guarantee's that established pollical parties would be able to shut out anyone they don't like. As bad as money in politics is, it's still enables an outsider to combat the government with deep enough pockets. What he proposes basically pulls up the ladder and locks the door from the inside.

I'd be more in favor of public financing if there was an absolute prohibtion of all outside contibutions (along with severe penalties for violations) and incredibly rigid enforcement of media "equal time" rules, but I doubt either one of those would make it past the ideologically captured court system.

What incentives do undocumented immigrants have when they get a job? That requires that a portion of their pay be directed to paying taxes. Any potential loss of subsidies that they may no longer be eligible to recieve? When already receiving compensation from being gainfully employed.

Your problem is not money in politics. Your problem is that your entire political system is broken beyond repair. You can not save the American political system. You need to tare it down and rebuild it from the ground up. I would recommend a Fractional Representation system. Ex if a political party receive 5% of the votes they get 5% of the seats in the senate with a minimum % threshold of like 3-4% to get in and you do this on every LV. Local, State, National.
