I am OBSESSED with Girls Gone Bible and I have to say this video was so cringy!!! The topic he persisted on.. ladies be “yourselves” wear sports bras to the gym, don’t hold back your beauty, don’t worry about being around other men’s wives. That’s their problem to deal with at home.. no no and no! And these ladies know that. You can cut the uncomfortableness with a knife! Stay convicted ladies! YOU’RE on the right path. You guys are beyond beautiful.. even more since your modesty conviction and journey. Your soul shines now, not your lustfulness.

You should watch Sadie Robertson Huff’s podcast episode with her Mom talking about modesty. No one is saying that they or any Christian for that matter (not just women) should dress provocatively. However if you watch that episode and read carefully the passages in scripture about modesty then you’ll see that it actually has literally nothing to do with how much a woman’s body is covered. It talks about making her adornment and beauty not merely outward but to be in the inner person of the heart. It’s about her not trying to draw attention to her outward appearance by wearing elaborate hair styles or EXPENSIVE clothes, and jewelry. If we wanted to take this literally we could say women can’t braid their hair because braids are mentioned or she can’t wear jewelry. No one says that though and rightfully so because that’s not what it means but this idea of not being able to wear a two piece bathing suit at the beach or having her whole body covered including her entire stomach that’s ridiculous as in these passages it literally says nothing about the coverage of her body. A bikini isn’t appropriate for the office but it’s fine for the beach. Do you think there’s some rule in scripture that men can be topless showing their six pack and buff muscles but women can’t show their stomachs even at the beach? Culture completely determines what’s lustful. In the Middle East and particularly in Islam women’s ankles are considered lustful and sensual. In parts of Africa women dress completely topless and men don’t consider breasts sexy because they are seen as functional baby feeders. We shouldn’t intend to cause lust but that’s a double standard. In the proverbs passage about adulterous seductive woman, her appearance isn’t even mentioned. If we all dressed like it was in Biblical times we’d all be in dresses, both men and women as even the men didn’t wear pants and their stomachs were covered too. The culture is what determines the dress code. Who’s to say that when God made coverings for Adam and Eve that Eve’s stomach was even covered. Another thing is that the Bible never puts the list of a man on a woman. If she’s not purposely trying to seduce him especially by her ACTIONS then him lusting isn’t her fault. We shouldn’t try to stumble anyone obviously but that goes for men and women and like he said women can stumble women but men can stumble men too. Men can stumble women too. We could all wear baggy sweaters and baggy jeans or sweats and still have people lust. Should we start wearing burkas too? Even that wouldn’t solve it. Many women who wear them in the Middle East are still raped. The lust of a man isn’t a woman’s fault unless she’s purposely trying to seduce him! Purity culture is the reason so many women are blamed when someone rapes them!

As for modesty, I feel like the more they grow deeper in faith the Lord, they'll develop a disciplined dress sense.

Dress as if you were in front of Jesus always. I don't agree with this. Lustfulness doesn't just take down a Christian man - it takes down all men who don't live in a Godly manner and unfortunately that is the society we live in. The majority of men will look at a woman and have lustful thoughts. I think it is honorable of the girls to have a conviction and turn from their ways to honor GOD. That's the way it should be and this is why I admire them so much. They do not conform to the world.

Sports bra in the gym is not the correct attire for a Christian. Any attire that could cause someone else to stumble is something God asked us to consider staying away from out of love for others just like He would never do anything to make us tempted or stumble. Let's be honest and not encourage making people's flesh feel good. The call to purity is not merely physical. There is purity in the heart posture of considering our brothers and sisters in the gym who could fall because of us. This walk is not individual❤

Women have been ass*ulted and fully covered. I am one of them. As a child too. Anything can cause a man to stumble if he already has lust in his heart. If someone struggles with gluttony and I’m eating around them unknowingly it is not my fault if they fall but their responsibility. God is concerned with the intentions behind what we wear not the outfit itself. I can wear a turtle neck to a pastors office with the intention of trying to get him to lust after me. It doesn’t make me modest even though I’m covered.

hmm, if Ahab have power then why didn't he get the land that he so desire from Naboth? isnt he king? Also why Prophet Elijah was afraid of his life by Jezebel and not POWERFUL king Ahab? Ahab was a king but behaves like a little boy, easily getting angry over small issues, gullible without discernment The bible said "He who doesn't have rule over his Spirit, is like a city without walls." True power doesn't lies in title like "king" nor strength" but in character, wisdom and knowledge. Proverbs 7:26...an immoral woman can destroy many mighty men...

@@YasmeenCampos10 riiiiiiiighhhhhttt! exactly. I'm not denying the fact the Ahab didn't have power cause he is king over Israel BUT Jezebel had power, she didn't NEED him, but only use/wanted Ahab like most women in this modern age is doing to men...even the "high value men" which dosen't have much just money and so called society status without GODLY standards. Ahab sold his soul to Jezebel as GOD told to prophet Elijah. I don't listen to Tim cause his mind is fleshly and flawed as u mentioned. You didn't really breakdown your definition of modesty but as Christian women, we do have the responsibility of honoring our Father with how we dress and present ourselves. There has has to be a line. Do you think our Father would tell his daughters it is okay to walk around in a bra in public? 1 Timomthy 2:9 I also want the women to dress modestly, with decency and propriety, adorning themselves, not with elaborate hairstyles or gold or pearls or expensive clothes. The patterns of this world is normalizing less and less clothing in public these past 50 years, especially. 2 Romans 12 Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is-his good, pleasing and perfect will. Proverbs 11:22 Like a gold ring in a pig’s snout is a beautiful woman who shows no discretion. Just because times have changed, people think we can walk around in bras and its normal. Its not.

A lustful man will understand undress a woman with a potato sack 🤦🏾‍♀️ . What you're basically saying is that if you are a blessing over a woman at the gym with a sports bra you definitely can't go anywhere where women are wearing a bathing suit.

Context. Men can stumble women too and we could all wear sweat shirts and baggy jeans or sweats and still be lusted over. Should we all wear burkas too? Even that wouldn’t solve it. Many women who wear them in the Middle East are still raped. The lust of a man isn’t a woman’s fault unless she’s purposely trying to seduce him! Purity culture is the reason so many women are blamed when someone rapes them.

Also to piggyback on the 45 mph analogy…. Because I am an architect. We know there is a sign that gives warning, some will ignore it. So we have guardrails at the potential accident which is made to put you back on course depending on the vehicle (some will just sit there for a while until someone helps) or you will be put back on course and forced to slow down and then regroup and keep going…

Tim Ross can have his personal opinions but he shouldn't be giving those opinions as if they are fact. Telling woman, or men for that matter, that they have nothing to do with others' lust is just flat wrong. We are called not to cause others to stumble. God calls us to freedom from sin, not freedom to do what we want. Its not about you, or me, its about giving God glory and helping him on his mission in every moment.

That's funny because the existence of a God is a matter of opinion, not a fact. To take an opinion and frame it as a fact when it's an opinion is lying. Either demonstrate your claim for the existence of a God or you're promoting unproven claims.

Wake up guys! What are we doing here? So GGB was talking about modesty like its the most important thing for them and then they ended up posting a post on IG that wasn’t aligned with what they were preaching, and being the Godly woman that they are, they removed the post and now Im hearing all these men say that they should just “be themselves” “don’t change you” “You shouldn’t have taken down that post”. If we don’t change ourselves to be Godly then our default is SIN. So you’re condoning us to be okay with our sin? We have to change ourselves to be like Jesus! Do you think Jesus would approve of that post? I really don’t understand. Instead of applauding them for doing the right thing/wanting to dress more modest clearly talked about in the bible and “which is truly beautiful” we are saying “it’s 2024 and it’s godly to dress that way and pose that way”!?! Btw I support GGB and when they posted that I was not tempted, not aroused, etc. I just felt like they’re not walking by what they’re preaching thats all. And I fully respect their decision because that was the “Godly” thing to do. No matter if we’re in 2024 or 2054 we should go by the Gospel because thats were the truth is. Please point out if Im not seeing something clearly, but I really feel like this needed to be said.

You're absolutely right, and I'll take it a step further and say that confusion is a tool of the enemy to cloud our minds from godly wisdom. It's popular in culture to twist standards according to how much you like a person. God doesn't do that though, his standards are consistent, This is why it's more important than ever for Christians to prioritize being led by the Spirit according to the word, not by what people (even well meaning people) tell them is ok. The Spirit is faithful to convict us when we need to make a change. GGB are clearly experiencing conviction and doing their best to live in a way that pleases God. I applaud and support them in this.

The balance between freedom and modesty is linked together through the Love of God realized. Freedom is great, but we cannot openly do something we know would cause someone to stumble. I don't perceive that GGW takes a "I'll wear what I want and don't care" attitude (which I think is not right), they have the right disposition in their hearts (based on what I know of them). So "on balance" I think they have the right disposition to live in freedom, because they are keenly aware of others motivated by their love of God and love for others.

Yes, practice modesty. That’s agreed upon. I believe his point is even if you dress modestly as a man or woman, and someone is still struggling with lust towards you, then that is not on the person who is dressing modestly. He’s not saying it’s ok to dress inappropriately or be justified in dressing inappropriately. He’s saying it’s a matter of the person who is struggling with lust and is not taking proper measures to not fall into that sin.

Mmm as a Pentecostal yea we should, but what happens when we’re out in public and see someone (man or woman) dressed indecent? Does the responsibility to prevent lustful thoughts fall on the person, or us? I get your point and agree, but everyone is on a different path to modesty. Let’s get to the root of the issue and address it. That was the point of that conversation.

Romans 14:13: Therefore let us stop passing judgment on one another. Instead, make up your mind not to put any stumbling block or obstacle in the way of a brother or sister. I am confused. So, dressing immodestly is not the woman's fault? Doesn't this verse imply that we should not cause our brother or sister to fall. IF you have control over it, I am sure. But in a small way you do. Any one can help me understand this?

Trying to be sexy is lustful. Always ask them about their motives and why they are behaving and displaying themselves in a certain way. If it’s to draw attention to themselves or self idolization, then we need to go to god about it, before it grows. I’m not saying we don’t struggle in our flesh/sinful nature, but at least be honest and take accountability and not lie to your followers saying males are the ones to blame for paying attention to you trying to look sexy. If you are constantly looking at the other gender to be your problems, I promise it’s probably your own issue.

My biggest struggle has been an addiction to pornography and sex. It’s existed since I was around 11-12 I am doing so much better now that I’ve awaken in the last year or so…at almost 30..the fight to over come this is brutal. My main focus and battle now is getting aligned with gods word. I respect embracing beauty. But if helping others is what your really about. You should realize skin tight leggings and cleavage is not modesty. It is a stumbling block for the ones like my self that are genuinely trying to do better and especially the ones that have not awaken yet to this spiritual battle. These are good girls and the guy seems to mean well, but for them to hold this platform you would think they would be less fleshly and more spiritual. I was raped at like 8 and have struggled since. You shouldn’t say it’s there problem if your acting as if your some helper. You dont know what people went threw growing up to make them think and act the way they do. So many people have my same story but are so ashamed of them selves… what your saying is not helping their shame. Do Better!
