💯💯💯 Exactly. I don't wanna hear more of the ish today. That's part of the problem of current mainstream music. It all sounds the same. Part of what was so amazing about his hey day in the industry was that EVERYONE STOOD OUT and did their own thing. Bring back STANDING OUT. Creativity. Originality. Going against the grain. 💯💯💪🏾❤

I used to work in a clothes shop back in 07. It used to be a crazy busy place but when that song came on the playlist, it was like the mood in the whole store changed. Makes sense. Producers like him and DJ Premier made beats the original.way. Sampling, instruments and just pure hardware. It wasn't software back then. The sound was organic and you couldn't mess up on a beat as DJ Premier always explains on his channel. Once you made a mistake, that was it. You had to ride with it. Now, you can make all the mistakes you need to because of the software and the sound is more technological.

Unfortunately that is the nature of creative talent. The young are filled with some type of magic, they are able to tap into a place of deep reserve and pull from nature something astounding. And as we grow older our technical skill increases beyond measure, yet that connection with raw creativity begins to wane. It is very difficult to age in the landscape of art like music and maintain that dance with nature that inspired us in the beginning.
