hello there, love your work. But why use that truss spline instead of long horizontal beam and work with a through tenon on the king post? Is it stronger like that? thanks

Hey there, good point. In this particular situation the ties were arched. Breaking the ties in two kept the structural integrity while maintaining a healthy arch.

Thanks for the info. Would a long straight horizontal beam have the same strength as a beam with a spline if it were not curved? I like the looks of truss with a spline. I understand that it has to be in 2 pieces for it to be curved. It would be a lot of wasted material if it wasn´'t. If you can even get your hands on such a big beam 😅
