Awesome video Josh. How would one create the rebate in the external frame to install the the ply sheet bracing? I’m home owner building and this confuses me a bit. Cheers

The pre framer can rebate the framing to allow for 7mm bracing ply if requested. Otherwise, you will just have to install the 7mm brace ply and then pack out the rest of the wall with 7x45mm ply strips. If the cladding is brick then you can just slap the ply on as there should be a 40mm cavity for the brick. What's your cladding?

Tip - Install your brace ply BEFORE building wrap that way you can use galvanized round head nails. If you install it Over top of the building wrap then you have to use stainless steal nails which are way more expensive. But sometimes you can still get away with galvanized just depends on the building inspector. This is for NZ of course

This is hopefully some constructive criticism so please be patient. This video is not very helpful, you are just basically standing there and talking. Someone is not familiar with the trade wont fully understand what you are talking about. If they do know what you are talking about then this video is not really intended for them. It would be best if you can demonstrate this on site, step by step. It would be a much longer video, more informative, easily understandable and increased interaction with your audience.
