It's nice I have to admit and it brews well but if I had to buy only 1 brewer I would go for the Hario Switch. But as a coffee geek I of course do not have just one or two or three brewers I have way too many lol.

Why don't you just buy a plastic base which has ridges? Maybe it doesn't look as good but it sure is far more usable :D
