I just reread the series the last few days and I'm going down that Fandom rabbit hole. I'm so freaking glad it got me to see this! Wonderful video, I even thought while reading that I'd love to see Throne of Glass made into an animated series of some type!

I've gotten to the point where that's mostly what I imagine while reading the series - somewhat of a more realistic anime style! The Throne of Glass world and characters are too amazing not to create some sort of show out of it!

I know I absolutely LOVE that scene! Unfortunately I hadn't read the final novel before starting this short film, and I kind of wanted to keep it that way, showcasing what I thought and felt like the final novel would portray. (Of course I was somewhat wrong haha, but all in all I had a GREAT time coming up with what I thought was going to happen, what I felt in my heart could happen)

Not gonna lie I shed a tear or two when I got to that part, the 13 being as brave as they were. There seriously NEEDS to be something more dedicated to this series. It seriously deserves its own show, the books are so powerfully and wonderfully written.

Thank you so much! I used OpenToonz software for the whole 2D animation process - that software is free, produced by Studio Ghibli for open source use! I used Adobe Photoshop for the backgrounds, and concept work. To tie it all together, I used Adobe After Effects and Premiere. The only "special effects" I used were all hand-drawn or using basic filters in OpenToonz. Hope that helps!
