Time Attack Soarer build continues
The second video detailing the build of my JZZ30 Soarer track car buildup. The action now takes place in Darwin, Northern Territory on the Hidden Valley circuit. The basics were covered in the early days before as seen in my video "1:10s for under ten grand at Wakefield Park". This video picks up the action in Darwin where scrutineers called for the addition of a roll cage. The roll cage is a full weld in CAMS spec cage designed for a mates Sprots Sedan. To offset this gain in weight the car went on a crash diet with the glass replaced with Lexan (not the front screen), the passenger door entirrly gutted, and the floor of the boot cut out to make way for a rear diffuser. I even went sor far as to take a hole saw to the boot, but after two hours work I'd only saved 150 grams so I gave up. The front splitter area saw some more development, and the front bushes were replaced with polyurethane (which had to be machined down to fit).

THis video I think they were the Fujitsubo cat back system. It is a full stailness version of the stock system, with two resonators and two mufflers. I have since swapped it to my road car and put a pair of trust mufflers on the rear on a custom set up I made myself.

@MrCocola12 I have had 3 different sets of rims on the car- all 17inch in diameter. The silver ones were 17x8 all round. The Supra rims (grey then black then fluro green 5 spoke) are the track rims and they are 17x8 and 17x9.5. The third set I use for motorkhana are 17x8.

Actually my mistake. Those are the trust mufflers that came with my road car. I made up a straight through system, no cat, no resonators straight off the dumps. It is still very quiet for a track car. I reckon it would be road legal, for noise at least.

@MrCocola12 No probs mate. I have 18s on my other Soarer (black mesh with polished lip) and they look alright. I like the purposeful look of the 17s on the track car though. And tyres are sooo much cheaper in the slightly smaller size.

I wish they would let a lexus race in the v8 supercar races down under! Would be nice!

Lexus could race a suitable 4 door sedan in the Supercar series, but Toyota seem to have not expressed any interest. There might be more interest once the 2017 rules come into force and Toyota can run an engine of similar configuration to those they sell in Australia.

What year? The Car is a 93 model. Most of the footage in that video was taken in 2010 in Darwin, but some was from end of 2009.

Just one question. What tailpipes were you running on the car at the time this video was shot? They look perfect.
