I appreciate guitarists who prioritize the music over their own showmanship. They avoid awkward, unnecessary movements or excessive stage antics, keeping the spotlight on the melody rather than being swayed by the audience's reactions. Dave definitely fits this description, both in his performances and in his everyday demeanor.

His music and Pink Floyd's music are my heart and soul. I can't begin to describe the quality they and David has added to my life. I've seen them 10 times and I cried during every video I've seen of the 8 concerts in the USA. I just had a neck fusion surgery or I would been to every one of these concerts. Thanks to everyone for sharing your video.

Fantastic, thanks again Matt! Always my favorite Floyd song and Gilmour guitar solo. Just found out recently that along with David, Richard Wright also sang on Time, adding his voice to the bridges between verses.
@MFrazier55Ай бұрын
Cool, didn't know that about Richard Wright!
@bluemoon-20Ай бұрын
@MFrazier55 Yea, that was a nice surprise (the source was Wikipedia). Rick's voice sounds somewhat similar to David's- clear, atmospheric, and able to hit the high notes. (I had to go back and find out which parts of "Time" are the bridges to the verses that Rick sings).

I'm inclined to say this was even better than the Rattle that Lock tour. There were less Pink Floyd songs for sure, but that tour was kind of the return of the Pulse tour, especially before David revamped his band with new musicians. This was a more meaningful and cohesive artistic statement, and the Pink Floyd songs, especially the ones with lyrics by Roger, really slapped. But David's new solo songs, especially Scattered, really sit well.

I saw the Animals show at Soldier Field in Chicago… at 14, in 1977… the video in the background, I believe, is from that tour. I’ve never forgotten it, and some of it game me nightmares for a long time after. 💜

You're thinking of Roger...
@UninfluenceableАй бұрын
The only part he doesn't sing is the main verse on In Any Tongue since that would require him to scream at the top of his lungs, which I'm sure he could do, but for how many shows, right? So, Ben the rhythm guitarist (who is absolutely phenomenal, BTW) sings that part. Even on the 2016 tour, the back-up singers sung that verse. Everything else, Dave sings, and it's very obvious that he's singing, and not to some recording like Rog...
