If anybody messes with that finished basement I will curse them a thousand curses. Oh my God someone who loves that house needs to buy it

Unfortunately harder to preserve things like this today as a lot of things aren’t built to last. These videos are so neat, thanks for uploading!

In the red carpet room, there were the TV trays (the portable metal ones) that everyone owned back then. The owner probably had a stand with other TV trays that he could bring out for entertainment. The double level end table on one side of the couch was what families had back then -- on both sides of the couch and next to an overstuffed chair. I never saw a red carpet back then, but orange was popular -- very autumnal, next to the landscape pictures. I bet that place has heard the music of Herb Albert and the Tijuana Brass Band and had plenty of Decca records.

It looks like they tried to make a mid-century ranch look "western". The basement is really cool. Fun to imagine the good times they must have enjoyed there. I hope the white leather sectional went to a good home.

Nice old home, bet they had great parties and holidays on that basement. I used to rent a old rancher and to this day that old oven worked better than any oven I had since. I like the vintage vibe.

This is my dream idea I keep looking on Zillow hoping one day I'll find a house from the 50s fully furnished with nothing but the fifties inside too and if you're really lucky and 1950s car in the garage can a girl dream

It seems like all new construction today nods to the craftsman style that was popular about 100 years ago which is nice, but you can't touch a new ranch home in this style for less than about $500,000 where I live. I wonder if builders will ever bring back the mid-century modern neighborhood construction style again. It would be nice if they did. I wonder if it would be more affordable? I wonder if people (the new generation) could ever appreciate the simplicity of that style neighborhood. What's kind of sad is we are seeing a decline in upkeep of the mid-century modern neighborhoods and neglect of the streets making them appear rundown. Municipalities aren't keeping up with keeping these neighborhoods looking nice and it's frustrating. When I look at new supersized homes for sale I wonder why does anyone needs so many different living rooms filled with similar furniture or a master bedroom and bathroom the size of a banquet hall? Lot's of vacuuming in these type of supersized homes and hours of grass cutting on the weekends. I suppose they hire people for that. I also wonder if people who can afford these supersized homes spend all there time working to pay for them and not in them that much.
