Got him started on unreal tournament young where I destroyed him... well I'll just say he pretty much destroys me on everything now days... 16 vs 68 I am more a COD, Battlefield, Tomb Raider player now days .. a little Unreal since that got my into first person shooters. I always come here first when I am wanting to know about details of things. So glad to see your wife taking part, I want to go scuba diving on the great barrier reef some day, or just off roading in Australia for a visit. Been saving money to build a Ryzen 7 2700x PC … but just spent it on new 37 inch Mud Tires for my Jeep Wrangler. My old pc still runs Shadow of the tomb raider at 59 fps average, so can wait. @K5EDD- I am using the GTX 960 4g for my graphics card at the moment. Tell me, do you think the upgrade to the GTX 1070 was worth $400.00 bucks? Also, is it true you can play movies in 4K on your computer with a 1070 GTX, without having to install an eighth generation CPU to deal with the security/encoding barrier to 4k viewing. I have a $500.00 dollar 4k monitor that I really want to view 4k movies on but am unable (save some youtube videos) due to my processor being 6th gen. i7-6700k skylake.

The difference between the 760 and the 2060 is tremendous. What impresses me the most however is that the 1060 6GB is still relevant after almost 3 *years* in the market, wich is a long time for any Graphics Card. 2060 will be be the card to go for the near future if you can afford it though. Excellent video.
@imadecoy.
@imadecoy. 5 жыл бұрын
There's really no reason the 760 should be performing this bad except for the fact that Nvidia won't optimize drivers for it anymore. The 960 has mildly better hardware at best but can be seen here offering double the performance. Just over a year ago I was getting 60-80 fps at 1080p high preset playing Destiny 2. The support is just completely gone with new games. Far Cry 5 may be an exception as they spec the GTX 670 as the minimum. I upgraded from the 760 to an RX Vega 64 (for less than an RTX 2060, and well before it was even announced), as an upgrade not only in age, but also price tier. I went to 1440p at the same time. Keep in mind that Nvidia has shuffled things around a lot here. The 60 series cards have typically had an MSRP of $250 at launch. That's the way it's been for ages, until now. These are not the same tier of card. I don't think it's fair to compare 3 $250 MSRP (at launch) cards against a $350 MSRP card and say how far we've come based on that. One other note is that despite this channel's assertion, Vega 64 performs considerably better in most games than the RTX 2060. The exceptions are a small subset of games that are terribly optimized for AMD hardware.

I bought a Evga GTX 1060 3gb, in December for 184.00 brand new off ebay on EVGA's ebay site, i do not regret the decision. I don't do content creation, i do not play AAA games and i hate the "Games as a service" business model. The games i do play (WoWs, warframe Assassins Creed black Flag and Watchdogs), run perfectly on it. Im new to PC gaming, videos like this really help me. I bought a Ryzen 2600, 16gb ram, ssd, and it HAD the rx580. A friend of mine suggested the RTX 2060, I installed it yesterday and have been playing testing it out since. im not a fan of the ray tracing, it seems to really kill framerate, but by itself, im seeing good framerate, 120fps on the new modern warfare, max settings. Borderlands 3 is another game I play, frame rate on max is about 90 for that game.

I think the narrative is off with this one. If you are upgrading from GTX 760/960/1060, you are most likely looking at around $250 budget. The cheapest RX2060 available right now is $350, which is traditionally more in line with xx70 series. I would expect 1660 or 1660ti will be more of a fair comparison with these older cards.

System: Bought as a kit from Newegg in 2014 for $2500.00, i7-4930K 3.4Gh running at 3.9Gh boost, X79A-GD45 Plus motherboard, 16 Gb DDR3 1866 memory, GTX 780 3Gb video card, Viotek GN32C 144Hz curved monitor. I built this system in 2014 to finish my degree in Media Arts and Animation. It was a high end system for the time. I’ve been watching reviews and benchmark testing for several weeks trying to decide if I need to upgrade. I’ve come to the conclusion that my core system of CPU and motherboard are good as is. They each have 40 PCIe lanes and, so far, my CPU seems fast enough to play modern games. (I’ve played through all of the Sniper Elite games on high settings with no problems). I’m a third-party content creator for Trainz Railroad Simulator, so I am contemplating upgrading my GPU to an RX20 series card for a rendering speed upgrade for adobe software products and 3Ds Max. They are a bit expensive for me right now, so I will have to save up for a new card. Maybe by the time I have enough saved, the prices will have dropped a bit. If interested you can see some of my school videos at kzbin.info/door/IfjFeNFY_IcPJqPcRi3nnw?view_as=subscriber. Please keep in mind they were school projects. I thought I would benchmark my older system with as many game benchmarks I could find to match yours for comparison. My card is the GTX 780 3Gb GPU. World of Tanks benchmark and got a score of 14515 on ultra settings. It ran really well. Should be no problem for this one. Shadow of the Tomb Raider Demo: Ave FPS of 34. I believe I could play this game with minimal problems. Final Fantasy XV Demo: Standard Quality 5038 score: Fairly High Performance High Quality 3374 score: Standard Performance This one should be okay for High Quality. Didn’t notice any stuttering or artifacts. I don’t have any of the other games from this video but based on the above results the RTX 780 3Gb card seems to do slightly better than the GTX 960, so I expect I could play those games as well by playing with the setting if needed. I would like very much to see my card benchmarked to some of the newer cards for modern games. Thank you for your videos and tutorials. I have enjoyed them very much.

A “job” doesn’t mean a career. Do odd jobs around your town for small cash. Save up. Buy a sweet GPU. Unless you’re bound by age, law, or both to not accept money for doing a service, there’s no reason why you can’t make some cash doing small things. Mow lawns, wash cars, or feed chickens and wash cows if that’s what your area offers. If you really wanted it bad enough you’d stop finding excuses and just go do it. If it were honestly that bad you wouldn’t be wasting your time watching tech channels on KZbin. You’d be actually surviving in the real world.

I recently upgraded my GTX 950 to the RTX 2060. I got some good mileage out of that budget card ($160). It was originally paired with a Phenom II 960T, and I played a lot of World of Tanks with it. But, even a GTX 950 was held back by the 960T (at least in WoT); so, I upgraded to the Ryzen 5 2600, when became available. That was phase one, and the RTX 2060 upgrade was phase two. 🙂 I appreciated what you had to say on both those new products. You mentioned in passing the built in video encoding that both Nvidia and AMD offer on their video cards. I'm familiar with Nvidia's, and it does seem to have its shortcomings, especially at the lower bit rates a streamer might want to use, for example. I'm curious whether AMD might offer something better at this point. Nvidia seems to keep their cards close to their vest, making it hard for open source folks to work with them. Maybe AMD does better with their video encoder? Admittedly, this question will interest a smaller audience, but if you get curious about it, too, I'd like to hear what you have to say about it. 👍

@@lucasward9506 I've used one up until now. And honestly I was pleasantly surprised by how it held on for so long. + depending on the games you play it can be sufficient. I've played games like The Strange Brigade, Mad Max, Killing Floor 2,... on it at 60 fps 1080p. Maybe not the most extreme games in terms of performance needs but still games with some excellent visuals. And of course if you use it for esports games or older triple A games like Crysis 3, Far Cry 3, Battlefield 4,... it will do just fine.

The next major shift we'll see is when the next gen consoles are released as the OG PS4 and Xbone are kinda pathetic and devs can't squeeze anymore out of the hardware. It's why my 870m laptop GPU is doing new games just fine at 900p as it's more powerful than the ps4 and xbone, plus it has a modest 30% overclock on the gpu memory, it really needed the bandwidth.

The first GPU I bought was a 1060 3GB for like $110 in August 2022 (right at the end of the cryptocraze pricing and I also didn’t wanna have to upgrade the PSU in the pre build I had at the time so that limited me, I have a good PSU now) I’m considering buying a 2060 that’s at what I consider a great price on eBay right now. The hardware ray tracing is important to me even while it’s on the verge of being bottlenecked by the i7-2600 my system is running. If it really is bottlenecked I’ll be able to harvest more of its power if I ever build a completely different system. Update: I bought it

It’s important to note i think these days that your gpu can do quite well until a new console comes out, then things step up graphically, effects, game engines. Better cpu and gpu. It wasn’t until PS4 you needed more than an i3 or i5 in the days of the xbox 360.

I just want to say how much I appreciate this. I'm trying to scrape together the funds to finally build a new machine since my core 2 duo just can't play anything anymore and I was thinking about keeping the gtx 760 and tossing everything else. After seeing this I realize even that needs to be replaced.
