1 of the tings I noticed in my research is the line of work your doing it's easier to move up if you want to learn, but you will also work harder compared to the Military Sealift Command where they start you off in the kitchen and cleaning as also not wanting to let you go from there esp if your a good worker. Just from what I saw on multiple different videos.

SIU- seafarers international union the school is in piney point Maryland the school is free but there are a couple things you gotta pay for like uniforms transportation and you get get the whole program done in under two years

I don’t understand I made a mistake when I was 15 and 16 and it seem like every industry. I tried where I wanna start a career my juvenile record gets me stuck. I’m not understanding. How am I supposed to evolve? I just keep getting judged by mistakes I made when I was a teenager something that was almost 7 years ago

I would recommend talking to someone in the coast guard about becoming a merchant mariner and possibly paying for you credentials because I have met many people in this industry with criminal records people who have been to jail so give it another try don’t give up
