Further to this topic... we are quick to tear down players after 6 games. We cannot say out of one side of our mouth that we are in a rebuild and we need to be patient and then out of the other side we slam a player who had a devastating injury--- Witness the following: Former NHLer (Calgary Flames, Phoenix Coyotes, Philadelphia Flyers and Los Angeles Kings) and current RDS analyst Denis Gauthier said the other day that it takes around 18 months to truly come back from that kind of injury. Healing the physical part of the injury is one thing, but healing the mental part is not that easy. Once you're back on the ice and skating, you've got to get your reflexes and your confidence back and overcome the hesitation, the unconscious fear of reinjuring yourself. What i am saying is THE WHOLE HABS team is underperforming. After 6 games we have had 1 TRUE win. Our Defence overall is weak unable to clear the zone. Our forwards are not playing effective TEAM defence and we are missing scoring touch It is the entire team--- going right to the Coaching Staff. They are young but they are under performing. We are stocked with FIRST ROUND TALENT--- Suzuki, Armia, Newhook, Dach, Slafkovsky, Guhle, Caufield.... At this stage collectively we are being outclassed. Lets look game by Game Toronto--- We should lose-- we won but it was a loss Boston-- We should lose--- we lost Ottawa-- We should lose--- we won Pitts Burgh--- We should Win--- We lost LA KINGS--- We should win--- we lost NYI--- We should lose ( on road ) --- we tied True record 1-5

Valid points! Same about Caufield as he only looked like his "old" self towards the end of the season when he scored 8 goals in the last 9 games of the season. I am not concerned about results given a proper rebuild takes years. Take the Oilers for example given two generational talents and all their #1 draft picks. Most frustrating is that Bergevin's legacy continues to haunt. Long term contracts / $ value have delayed progress. Finally Dvorak, Armia and Savard will be off the books. Tbh, I do like Savard however he has clearly lost his legs. Next season Price's contract is off the books and with salary CAP increasing IMO we can put up with Anderson for the last year of his contract. Perhaps he has a bounce back season and can be traded with Habs retaining 1/2 salary? As for Gally, he has many intrinsic values so will continue to be a great role model for young players.

Everyone gave Cole a pass last season. ( shoulder surgery). But Dach had serious knee surgery. Everyone off with his head. Just give him time to get comfortable and confident in his knee.

Hi Coach, The first line should be split up given they are not performing well and the team is thin up front. Since Marty has yet to play Pezzetta he probably is not in future plans (UFA this year) so I would put him on waivers and bring up Roy. My lines as follows:- Caufield - Suzuki - Heineman (excellent forecheck, 2 goals & great shoot-out goal) Roy - Dach - Slaf (not a demotion just need to spread offense) Newhook - Kapanen - Anderson (based on PK should not be demoted) Gally - Evans - Armia (unfortunately all righties) Dvorak is 13th forward as he is doing nothing offensively and winning only 43% face-offs.

Demote Slaf to the 2nd Line... without question... Maybe ignite Dach and Slaf

Honestly at this stage i would give heinemen a chance with newhook at center on the second line. I even like the idea of giving kaponen a chance on the other wing. Give the kids a chance to play. Put Dach on the wing of third line, let him heal and get his game back. Hey hon off of center for now

I think there are more Red Flags on the Habs. We cannot get out of our zone… realistically we are 1-5 in Real terms… with only 1 legitimate win We definitely need to be better

You have to ride it out with Dach at center for this year- have to see what they have.

Honestly I think you can put him in the wind while he focuses on getting his game back. He played really well on the wing when playing with Suzuki and Caulfield before. Maybe pushing him to take faceoffs is too much all at once. Let him get his game back first. Just my opinion
@kerrywillett961
@kerrywillett961 11 сағат бұрын
Montreal does not need to ride it out on Dach at center. He should never have started the season at center during pre-season games after coming off of that operation/injury. Play him on the wing until his timing, strength and reflexes rebound. It may take several months with that type of injury recovery. So be it.

@@markolarabie6685 Hi Mark, always plan for the worse case scenario and hopefully Dach grows into a center in the future. Pushing Dach's buttons today at center after that injury is not a positive development program in my opinion. Dach may come around in 20 or 30 games if this continues but why risk him at that position. Leave him as a winger while he recovers. His 100 percent recovery is more important at this time. Cheers

How many people argued with me when I said the day it happened that the Newhook and Dach trades were stupid.Then all year everyone is like Dach being back and adding Laine we are goin to be really good. The problem is they do NOT know how to play the game NONE of these guys have improved their hockey IQ.The skating is also not good enough our players look like they are working hard to skate while other teams the players seem to glide and use less effort. The reason for a lack of offense or defense is always the same the players don't read the game they are puck chasers they react AFTER the play is made.This aspect of the game can be improved with coaching but the players are obviously not receiving proper coaching>>how to THINK about the game.
