TIME FOR CHANGE! - "WATCH FLIPPER" TURMOIL - MARKET UPDATE!

After over 300+ videos on KZbin It's time for a change! I feel like it's time for me to switch up the format of my videos on this channel. This does not exactly mean that I will not be doing my regular review and more. This just means I am ready to start venturing out to new styles of content. First I am going to be implementing a video cast style format which I think will be very entertaining once I get it tweaked right. On this first episode I will be talking about the follow up of my last video plus going over why the change of format.

I do not think the flipper market is dead based on my observations. First, many AD's have no inventory in their cases for Rolex, PP, or AP sports steel models. The AD's keep telling me that the demand outstrips the supply in the US. Secondly, the grey market is still flush with inventory or at least daily offers from flippers to sell to the grey market. This means the flippers are still buying from the AD and trying to sell above retail [instead of the AD selling to new customers who really want to wear the watch]. The difference is now that Eric & other grey market dealers are not buying until they have a customer on the phone ready to buy right away.

I think this is a great format. And from a business perspective, diversifying your brand away from only yourself and giving Keon camera time will be good for business. You’ll want clients to feel a level of comfort with people that work with you so spread the love with the screen time.

Everyone who puts the hours into their business, their clients, and is a true professional experiences burnout at some point in their career. Eric did the right thing by taking a sabbatical for a few weeks. I enjoy watching the interaction with customers talking about watches. Eric started to differentiate himself by sharing what is happening in today's market as price reset, and should continue to share his knowledge as to specific watches that are great values to buy in today's market. Another topic that never gets old is comparing one brand's model to another brand's model head-to-head from Eric's experience. Keep on grinding and don't feel pressure to make a video every week unless you have great content.

Even with the lower pricing on watches, rolex models are still selling above retail. So are the other hard to find brands.

As long as watches or any other products are not readily available, then it will most likely sell higher in the used market. So don't expect any Rolex to be selling under retail when you still can't just walk into an AD and walk out with the watch you want.

I feel the boulder is still rolling downhill as far as secondary watch prices are concerned. Might not be a good idea to get in the way by buying at this time. It will bottom out though and maybe I can get a good deal on my next Daytona and average down the cost of the last one. Lol. Unfortunately there will be a lot people crushed by the correction/collapse before this happens. Good thing we have you youtube guys to update us when the devastation is over.

BS $800 profit for you, previously your selling a sub at x2 over list. Yes you give them flippers way over retail, your making $3.5k minimum. You low ball when you buy, you hold the stock and only sell high to someone who trusts you. Your problem now is a low turnover, you will still be here no worries I have always liked your videos. Upvoted and been subscribed from day one, this market was more rational pre 2017.

Yeah claiming $800 must be after paying taxes, rent, insurance, employees and goodness know what else. Now turnover is slowing prices will have to come down as dealers cannot sit on stock forever without cutting expensis.

You do realize grey market dealers aren’t buying these from an AD correct? Therefore paying much more than retail for pieces. It’s funny that guys think there’s that much meat on the bone on regular sport models like Subs & GMTs.

While the scenic videos and “day in the life” content are entertaining, it’s nice to hear more extensive views on what’s going on in the industry in this “video-cast” format. And welcome, Keon! What Eric said about not buying you a new car was a head fake. That’s obviously the next video he’s secretly planning.😉 I would agree that it’s definitely a good time to consider buying, but honestly I haven’t seen the prices drop enough on the piece(s) that I’m looking to pick up. You should create an integrated network with Roman and Adam from men to watch us where Adam focuses on the Vintage stuff you focus on the day-to-day and multiple luxury items like cars and additional and then Roman focuses on the grind and building a business I don't know you guys could actually start an entire watch podcast Network together and then you can slowly bring in other people that have different styles doing things just a suggestion

Any business that deals with Investments which essentially is every business it's all about the grind and the way you do it now when you get to a business that's Commodities based gold silver jewelry watches man it gets tough that shit moves fast the whole Market could shift in an afternoon to be quite honest it's tough I'm trying to work my way in but I'm starting low going to work my way up slowly over the next few years there's a lot to learn between the way market swings what models do what what's popular what people like what people don't like how that shifts and changes it's an ever-changing business I'm excited it's going to take a while by myself but

However the last 130 videos "out on your own" cements the reputation of just one skill; buy/ sell/ trade used watches out of your sportcoat with sunglasses with a street-savvy approach, knowledge in one thing (watches) and an enjoyable love of watches with sarcasm whipped in. At least that's why I viewed.

If you ever follow the California news, there's currently an increase of crazy Rolex robberies. Many Cities have issued announcement to stop wearing luxury watch in public. This sucks for hobbyists and people worked so hard to get a Rolex but can't wear them. What's your thoughts?
