Sounds like a great masterplan Jason. I came to the same realization when I let my Son have my truck. The Trailblazer I have now gets around 35mph! You are a good man putting family on the top of your priority list. There are thousands of beautiful areas you can video on day trips where you live. No need to spend a bunch on motels. Good luck buddy...the adventure WILL continue!

I have been happy with my Tacoma. I'm counting my work days T - 30 days. That sounds like a plan.

Jason, I recently swapped vehicles. I'd been using my wife's 07 Ford Freestar mini-van as my daily driver since she passed in 2015, but it was just worn out. The repair cost just kept coming more and more in cost and frequency. I did tons of research and decided I was buying a Toyota product due to reliability, longevity, and resale value retention. I do not buy new vehicles, not since 1995. I wound up finding a used 2017 Lexus GX 460 and I love it. It's over 100K miles but they're known to go over 300K with no major issues. Based on what you said here I suggest a Toyota Tacoma, you'd still be able to haul something if needed and they are super reliable, fuel efficient, and hold their value top notch. Good video man, the advice on credit cards is gold. I've been buried in CC debt before and being free of that is life changing, like getting out of prison. I haven't carried credit card debt in many years, the interest is soul crushing.

Yep never had a Dodge Truck. Don't see much old pre 1975 on the road. Like Chevy and Ford. Houston Traffic is bad any day. Thanks for the drive tour

That's wonderful to put your family first and then also focus on health. Sounds like a good idea to get something with better gas mileage

Hey Jason. I think a vehicle better on gas is an excellent idea. You'll be saving a lot of money in the long run and probably on insurance as well. I can tell you have a special relationship with your parents and I think it's good that even though you are a man yourself you still have a great concern for them. I think that's something special. You have been down here to visit me a few times amigo and now I need to get up your way. Hope you're doing well and have a fantastic weekend

@dennis78382 Thank You so much Dennis! I've got a good feeling about this plan! I'll still be putting out videos and keeping in touch of course just maybe not quite as often. We hope that you are doing well and hopefully you'll be out of there soon! Take care my friend!🙏🙏🙏

Howdy Jason! I relate to you in more ways than one, amigo. Sending prayers for your family as they face health struggles & also for your health & well being. Look forward to seeing your new ride, I'm sure it will cut your fuel costs big time. I'm curious, do you enjoy camping? I know sleeping in my Tahoe or pitching a tent saves me a lot of money when I travel. I wish you luck as you make changes to improve your experience and will be along to watch your adventures. Take care amigo!

@TravisT432 I do enjoy camping but especially when it's not loud or crowded! Next time I head out to West Texas (which will probably be a while) I'm going to ditch the expensive motels for a campsite instead. I'll definitely let you know when I make it back out there. Sorry I missed you this last trip my friend! Take care!

@@jasons_tx_adventures I can understand that. Some of the state parks can get a bit crowded for my taste. I'm not above sleeping at a picnic area or trailhead 🤣. I know it's a long time until April, but I'm planning to visit your neck of the woods for the birds spring migration next year. I really want to visit High Island & Sabine Woods. Maybe we could finally align our paths to meet then amigo!

Hello Jason, I don't know why but I thought you had a Toyota. Yeah you need something with a good mpg with gas prices up and down and your long trips to the west. We have a f150 and a ford feista. So on solo tent trip I drive the feista getting 30 plus mpg. Sorry to here your not getting a travel trailer. Can't wait to see your new plans for the future. Praying for brother family first.
