Everything you see in Real Steel is practically illegal but nothing they do is illegal because they're robots. For instance: Zerog has a built-in jetpack. Dreadlord has a full out scythe. Biowar has a gun arm. Hallowjack has spinning hands that are also spiked maces. Blacjac also has spinning arms operated by magnets.(which is why you hear clicking) Metro has a very short left leg and a mallet hand.(he has to limp whenever he walks) Twincities has 2 heads. Fiend has spinning spiked hands. Dark fiend has spinning spiked hands. No-Joke has spiked gloves. Drago has hidden claws that can pop out in clear view, not to mention he breaths fire. Wildfire has a built-in flamethrower in his right hand. Ronin has spiked hands. Aztec has spiked hands. Diablo has blades attached to his arms and has a fire lighting up his entire head. Spectre has giant blades attached to his arms. Asura has 4 arms. Scorpion has a tail. There may be more, but this is already a lot of robots in the game and the movie that has a lot of robots with built in weapons. Literally half of these robots are from the game. Outside the movie.

Mr. sandman actually have made sqomething that would cause trouble to his boxing license : destroying a building out of rage. Also, Fighting donkey kong can actually kill you because he is technaclly a gorilla (not a silverback one, but still). if you guys don't know, those animals have a weight of 300 pounds of muscles, which means that if you fight one of them, your skull and your ribbcage are gonna be reduced to dust. And that's not even the only primate who is sronger than you because even the chimpanze can easily knock you out and even kill you if you are pissing him off too much.

I mean the whole point of real steel is they replaced human boxing with robots so they could get away with Looser rules and not worrying about death (I mean in the game you can do stuff like spin your arms 360 or grab your opponent by the shoulders and repeatedly headbut them), a jumping attack is probably legal in robot boxing given its more if a demolition event than traditional boxing with the usual assumption being most of the time the loser is being significantly damaged or losing its arms or head. So I think the rules are "if a bot is knocked down count to 10 if it's not up by then it's out, if a bot loses its head or both arms it's out, there are specific rules to ehat you can and can't incorporate into your boxer robot, while your opponent is down you can perform or taunt for the crowd but may not attack the opponent further, don't bring outside items into the ring your here to showcase your boy's strength not that your a cheater" (and if course a few other mices but point is it seems that fir the most part there are no banned strategies or techniques within reason as Long as your robot can achieve it, you can even have 2 pilots operating 1 robot)
