Very nice video, i really want to buy a DR for a long trip, from Colombia to Argentina and then to Alaska, the DR is in the top of my list and with mods like yours it can be the perfect ADV bike. We call the DR in Colombia "la DRagona" (The DRagon).

Has the center stand ever gotten in the way clearing obstacles? Or does it help?

I didn’t have any issues with obstacles and have found it helpful changing flats on the road. It does add weight though..

Makes one wonder why you even buy this bike if you have to sink all that money into it. They should just make a cheaper version and an upgraded version. When I buy a bike I want it to be ready out the door so I will just buy a bike that is ready. This must not be the bike I thought I wanted.

I agree but there is no such bike the closest was 2018 klr650 the dr650 u need to change seat and suspension for sure. There is tenere 700 it s heavier and 10k$. I am waiting for 2021 to see what s new.
