I know this is 7 years later. However, I hope you are still painting and have more confidence now. When you started to put the tape on then painted I knew it would be nice. When you actually took off the tape it was actually quite amazing. Thanks for sharing.

Very nice! I really like it and I see from your room you really ARE an artist and not just a dabbler. You have good composition, good balance in the placement of your squares. Let an old hand give u some advice. The first thing the eye sees is the very dark, then the lights. If you put your whites in the center square, it would pull the viewers eye more to the center of your painting. Good stuff! Looking forward to seeing more of your work!

Glad you liked the blow dryer idea. Hope it inspires you to start painting again. New ideas of doing things always makes me want to try them out! :) By the way, you remind me of my son, who's about your age or a bit older I'de say, only his idea of art is drawing stick figures..hahah. Ah well, he's a gamer, so guess his talents lay elsewhere. lol Anyhow, thanks again for the vids and hope to see some more soon.

I really don't care if someone is "good" or "bad" as long as i like the artwork. This one was really cool looking and almost looks a bit like an old museum or library or something. The work with colour where cool and i like that you kept it simple and didn't sent wild on the colors!

Painters Tape (Usually Green) is what you need. Doesn't leave any residue or remove any paint.
@lhommealenvers10 жыл бұрын
How dry was the paint when you started removing the tape ? Is it dangerous to paint on many layers and have it dry much, can removing the tape tear the paint off easily ?
@SeeWillySee10 жыл бұрын
The initial black paint background was completely dry before applying the tape. The boxes were still partially wet when I removed the tape on completion to avoid tearing paint. The best way to remove the tape is to pull it on a hard angle against the canvas. So the tape actually forms a < type shape when removing it. Helps "cut" through the paint. I hope that makes sense.

If you're doing large canvasses, have you thought of tinting gesso to paint the larger swatches, rather than using up the more expensive paint? I use black gesso also. Fabulous work, by the way. You're making it in such a way that it's encouraging others to try it. That's a gift.

now over the entire field of rectangles, lay bands of tape that you have cut with scissors to have irregular shapes on either one edge of the tape or both, in a different horizontal/vertical pattern to create new rectangles, use a thinned glaze of paint to go over the whole thing, thinned so you don't obscure what is underneath ( you can even cover the black horizontal/vertical bands you already made with tape in whole or in part - cutting hundreds of bits of squares with the tape and staggering it like a dotted line ove the black bands you already made might be cool too, once they're taken up after applying paint ) taking up the tape to reveal overlapping new patterns.. repeat process with variations until satisfied....

That would take it to another level. Very Creative.

So if you don't mind, can we use some part of this video?, we absolutely reveal where the source came from and there are no purposes for making money. just for informing. Please answer me ~!

Another nice one! The colors are great. Yes, you should paint some more. I just watched a vid where a lady used a hair dryer to move what seemed to be a more liquidy paint around and it worked awesome. Pippin is the artist I believe. Check her out for some inspiration maybe? Anyhow hope you keep at it. Thanks for another good vid.
