Hi Sylvain! Yes this piece required more heat. This particular skull had a finish which I chose not to remove as I am not familiar with the process of preparation yet and did not want to sacrifice the work surface. Getting to know your media in al forms and circumstances can be beneficial in calculating how long something can take and how it will respond to heat. As this was my first time burning bone, I decided to try it as is. Yes it was a strong smell of both not so pleasant scents , finish and burning bone.
