Hello I’ve just finished my electrical apprenticeship. Most of my experience is in domestic with a little bit in industrial and commercial. I have wired a few control panels before with wiring diagrams and really enjoyed it. What’s the next step towards this sort of work? Are there courses I need to take or do I just apply for the job with my electrical certificate and get taught on site? Thanks

Hello! It depends on the country and which sector you choose. Generally domestic doesn't requires additional courses only patience and experience over time. Commercial is preferable to have a bit of pratical experience as background, to be able to suggest the most suitable solution for the costumer, and not with only theoretical knowledge. For the industrial there are lots of courses that you can choose to implement your skills and your appreciation. We spoke about our country, for example there is the license to operate in electrical cabinet under voltage, or the one to enter in the electrical room, you can upgrade your maintainer wiring skills with a bit of coding knowledge.... We suggest to start work and bit by bit understand what do you like and what your market requires.

All of those cabinets are unique becuse they are used for specific machines or set of machines. Even machines are made for specific purposes. Making something that complicated is not really profitable. Maybe you could make something that puts components in place, but you still need to wire everything, make holes, put marks on everything and do many more thing that experienced human can do way better for less. And I heard that companies that make unique machines and cabinets give "warranty" for like 10 or so years. After 15 years they don't want to hear about them.
