1st video. Just a little comment to help you. You can put the armature of the motor in an electric drill and get a fine file and clean the commutator. Make sure it is very even as the old brushes that you took out and replaced were broken. Then take fine sandpaper say 4 to 6 hundred and polish it. Use the drill to spin it around. Then the most important part. Take a screwdriver that will fit in the slots of the commutator and scrape to clean them out. Then fine sandpaper again. Those old meters are not suitable. You need to be able to check insulation to ground. Any less that 20 meg ohms is a sign of trouble. There is plenty of info online to help you deal safely and not cause yourself and others trouble. You can do some study. And get to know what to do and be safe. The new meters can give you data that is useful. Do some study. 2nd video. If there is any sign of discoloration on the coils. They will need to be rewound. These look ok. It is a good idea to replace the capacitor as it helps kick the motor into life. Looks like the centrifugal cut out switch was good that is on the rotor and controls the speed. Also very important on AC motor to check from the coils to ground. 3rd video. The coils look a bit overheated. Most likely just age. Follow what I said for the commutator clean and undercut the commutator. Very important will help stop arcing in the motor and make the machine last longer. 4th video. Electricity passing through connections wound like that are unwise. Several good options. Never use plastic tape inside a motor the heat will dissolve the glue over time. Me I solder wires together and use heat shrink tube over the connection. Even just heat shrink tube will make it safe and use a heat source to shrink it and make it safe. Also I use cloth tape as it really sticks onto the back of the tape as it is wound around. I tried to get a connection I made apart and had to cut it off. It was really stuck on to the underneath tape.😎 All the best from Australia.
