3rd attempt paid off to get the time-lapse I was aiming for. How many attempts have you done to achieve a shot you were looking for?

Hi John, great videos and very informative, I finally worked out the timeline app and I'm now working on a few timelaspes. On yours the footage at the end is that put together in post or is that straight out of the camera? All I have managed to produce so far is about 1000 5 second video clips. Should the camera (Sony A7iii) be set to photo or video mode? I am still working this out as I post this comment. thanks a lot great videos.

Thanks Alan for your comment and sub too. All my time lapses are shot as single photos and then combined in post. There are a couple of supporting apps which make this process so much easier and automate the operations of adjusting 4,000 individual image files. Most people who do time lapses use these 2 bits of software; Adobe Lightroom and LRTimelapse by Gunther Wegner. He has developed the software and has comprehensive step-by-step tutorials on his site. lrtimelapse.com/tutorial/ So in short I use his workflow method for generating my time lapses. Enjoy the journey, shout if you need any more help.

Remember the exposure triangle; aperture, shutter speed, ISO. I adjust the ISO / aperture to get the shutter speed I want to create the effect I want in the movement in the scene.

Enjoyed this. Would have been "livid" if the end result hadn't been included :)

Thank you. Yes you would have felt hard done by if I’d not shown the results! 😀
