I used to work on a Degauzing barge at CFB ESQUIMALT on Vancouver Island it's where you completely wrap a ship from Bow to Stern with a 2inch rubber insulated electrical wire cable in which we would send thousands of electrical volts Through to basically demagnetize the ship. This is WWII Old School technology that is still used today

Just to be pedantic: The USS Eldridge was NOT a Battleship. Not even close. It was a Destroyer Escort, which is smaller than a Destroyer, which is smaller than a Cruiser, which is smaller than a Battleship. Just to give you a hint at the difference: the USS Eldridge displaced 1240 tons when launched in 1943, the USS Wisconsin (an Iowa class Battleship) launched the same year displaced 48110 tons. The main armament of the USS Eldridge was three 3-inch guns. The main armament of the USS Wisconsin was nine 16-inch guns.

@garygrant91The term "pedantic" is often used as an insult to describe someone who irritates others by focusing on trivial details, correcting minor mistakes, or showcasing their own expertise in a narrow or dull subject. The word originates from the Italian term "pedant" and the French "pédant," both of which mean "teacher" or "schoolmaster." In Shakespeare's era, a "pedant" specifically referred to a male schoolteacher. However, by the early 1600s, the word pedantic had come to describe someone who was overly devoted to their own academic knowledge. If you read this far which I hope you do. Thank you for the information. The USS Eldridge (DE-173) was a Cannon-class destroyer escort in the United States Navy during World War II. Construction: Launched on July 25, 1943 by Federal Shipbuilding and Dry Dock Co. in Newark, New Jersey. Service: Departed for the Pacific on May 28, 1945, and arrived in Okinawa on August 7. Transfer: Transferred to Greece on January 15, 1951 under the Mutual Defense Assistance program. The ship was named after Lieutenant Commander John Eldridge Jr., who led an operation for the invasion of the Solomon Islands. The USS Eldridge is also associated with the Philadelphia Experiment, a conspiracy theory that claims the ship was involved in a secret U.S. Navy experiment during World War II. The theory alleges that the ship was made invisible to radar or teleported. However, research and investigations have found no evidence to support the claims. As we know today many Conspiracy Theory have been proven to be true. I can only think this is why we have stealth technology l(ow observable technology LO technology) of fighter jets. The term stealth covers a range of methods used to make personnel, aircraft, ships, submarines, missiles, satellites, and ground vehicles less visible (ideally invisible) to radar, infrared, sonar and other detection methods. It corresponds to military camouflage for these parts of the electromagnetic spectrum (i.e., multi-spectral camouflage). Source: Google

While the movie had all the plot contrivances of a standard B-movie, it was still a lot of fun to watch things playout. Malcolm McDowell felt pasted in to have his name on the poster, and Michael Paré was clearly hired as a throwback to the original (in which he played the Lieutenant). It very much has the vibe of Canadian made for TV fare, like 'Travellers' or 'Continuum'. I wouldn't be surprised to find overlapping talent in the production teams.
