Pretty hyped for Kizaru being our boss fight instead of Saturn. I don’t have much expectations for Saturn anyways in terms of power. And I’ve always found it strange how Kizaru had a huge part in Marineford but somehow didn’t get a scratch. And I’m impressed to see Zoro fighting Lucci now, even though Sanji might join in on that fight since Kaku is pretty damaged.

@@bzskenny5589 Yea I just read/watched marineford again. It's a casual one line toss away, but Kizaru remarks how Marco revived himself after being hit by Kizaru's attack. It's kind of a moment most people don't recognize, but paints a bit of a picture for Kizaru's power. I see him and Luffy fighting to a standstill here while the straw hats make their escape. Then I expect a more serious Kizaru, which has already been teased a bit in the most recent chapter. That's my guess anyway.

What’s throwing me off is that Luffy immediately went G5 for Lucci (someone he beat before) but here against an admiral (who obliterated the whole crew last time) he’s doing the Goku thing. I don’t think this is the strong person he sensed, and the fight isn’t going to be long. I don’t think Luffy is intimidated by Kizaru. I’m not saying Kizaru, or the admirals in general are weak, but I don’t think they are really a huge threat to Luffy, Zoro, and Sanji anymore.

Well, using Gear 5 is still extremely taxing on him; so it’s actually best if he doesn’t enter his higher forms and burn his stamina unless he has to, at least until he’s gotten used to how Kizaru fights. Lucci wasn’t a threat to Luffy and Luffy already knew about his Rokushiki techniques, so he didn’t need to spend any time adjusting to him. Also, his condition after that fight might’ve finally clued him in about the strain of entering Gear 5 for even a short time, after which he didn’t use it against the Seraphim but just stayed in Gear 4.

A tactic that might be less straightforward, bewildering, something Luffy is capable of... having a splendid intuition that leads him to do exactly what needs to be done when it needs to be done, fully understanding and absolutely maneuvering an opponent with apparent superiority... We've already seen this with Enel... But there, Luffy's Devil Fruit was precisely the ultimate anti-Enel fruit... which won't be the case with Kizaru!! Thinking about it, the Devil Fruit that would have been useful to Luffy is Bartolomeo's Bari Bari no Mi, certainly the anti-Kizaru fruit, because those barriers can create surfaces that change the refractive index, which means you won't be hit by his rays if you can deflect them. If you can deflect them, you completely short-circuit Kizaru's power. Luffy will have to do without this fruit, but with the same technique, by, for example, getting his hands on a mirror... which should be abundant in Vegapunk's lab!!! For Zoro and the toxic narcissist, I won't comment too much.
