For all u new comers, I have watched all 20 seasons 3 times over. The one I like best is when they explain how Doggerland was flooded. Shows that that no matter how much meltwater there is the currents will not stop.
@PaulMahon-w2b7 ай бұрын
I've heard the currents can no longer circulate do to temperature and dilution. We care more that the coast flooding is.....😊😊

What I find nice about Time Team is the way they always include Ian, the digger operator, as part of the team when other, more sniffy, outfits would just regard him as the hired help.
@bradyelich2745 Жыл бұрын
Ian is also an arco and digs.

@@bradyelich2745 Hello, are we talking about the same Ian? The older chap? I know that there is another Ian who uses the heavy diggers? Thanks.

It's forensic archaeology, kind of like archaeological triage. They are checking sites to see what's there, sometimes to determine if a site is worth scheduling for government protection, often to provide a basis for further excavations by other entities. Sometimes they came in to help on large digs undertaken by other archaeologists who don't have the resources to do everything they would like. At other times they were called in to do a rapid dig on sites that were about to disappear due to development or something else. All of the Time Team participants have regular jobs outside of the time spent doing these shows.

As above. Also, 3 is a good number for an 'hour long' tv slot- back in the day when they would have split that up with 5 minute adverts between each 'day'. Standard back then to do things that fit easily around regular TV advertising.
@georgedorn1022 Жыл бұрын
Cost was also a significant factor. Making TV programmes and doing archaeology, including all of the post-excavation work required, are not particularly cheap activities.

Time for the modern residents of Cleeton to make a multi Billion pound claim for reparations on France. I would think 2,463,582 pounds each would do. How far back do we go for this nonsense. Demand an apology and cancellation of all things French.

Then the French should ask reparations for all the damage the English did during the 100 years war.
