Looks interesting For the focus stack did you have to move the phone camera or is there some software to do the stack like some cameras these days
@StewartWoodArtАй бұрын
I did both for testing, the 25 image stack was using canerapixels app.

Wow, impressed with your results! Since I upgraded to the 15 pro max I find I incorporate it's 24mm main camera into my photography fairly often. The Reflex lenses look like a solid upgrade if they fit your needs.

Regarding that this setup is today limited to 12 Mpx, which lens is sharper for the same magnification ? The 240mm+macro300mm+macro200mm or the long range macro screwed on the 48 Mpx sensor (and crop in post) ? My goal is to do iris photography, so the working distance is ok for both solution. I currently use a sony A1 with laowa 100mm 2X, but it is really tricky to be on focus due to the ridiculous DOF, so I wanna test it with my recent acquisition, the iphone 16 pro. I purchased on kickstarter the reeflex 240mm with their macro lenses and I am now waiting for the delivery, but I hesitate to take the long range macro to keep the 48 Mpx.

Hi Stewart, great video and I have the full range of Reeflex Lenses when I don't feel like carrying my OM1 system. I have just backed the project but how did you do the focus stacking? Can you share if you used a app and if yes which app. Thanks
@StewartWoodArtАй бұрын
Take a look at the camerapixels app, it has focus bracketing built in.
@_borgerАй бұрын
In a comment above, he said that he used the camerapixels app. It only does bracketing though, so you still have to merge the images on your computer with some focus stacking software.

Lol i just yesterday had a thought- damn, macro is not for full frame, depth of focus is so shallow, what if instead use 2/3 inch sensor, started searching for some lens for smartphone
@OvertakeGTАй бұрын
Hi Stewart, what camera app you are using in this video?
@StewartWoodArtАй бұрын
I used the Reeflex camera app, for focus bracketing I used camerapixels.

Would this lens work on the Xiaomi 14's 3.2x telephone lens?

Meh, I prefer my Oly/Pan set up. But it is good to have options available. After all, we all get older and who knows the conditions we face than 🙂

@@StewartWoodArt It would definitely be interesting to see and trust me a whole of people want to see how well it works 23 and 24 Ultra.

I think, where this will really shine is macro Video : ) 4k120p with that working distance would be a dream.

So, paying twice of what someone can pay for an aps-c camera and a macro lens or a normal lens with a Raynox adapter? This obsession for phones should be subject of a study

Im not sure you understand the potential and convenience of smart phone photography.

I felt the same way several years ago. Then I accepted a job where I go overseas and now I can take 4 iPhones from co workers and have a 4 camera shoot and it films directly to my iPad shooting LOG. I have the full G Series kit and now I have a full set up and I don’t have to lug around 4 Canon C 70 cameras with full Gimbal set up, Ninjas for each one, plus a directors monitor costing $1,000 extra per flight ✈️ and way less baggage. I am not filming a full length movie but I am getting some very nice shots still telling the story and not having to worry about a huge rig set up. I can go on and on how much easier my life is. I also go hiking and camping and I love to film the journey and this set up is stellar!! Like I said, I felt the same way but now I have a different outlook and can’t wait for it to become even easier to tell a story!

Thats a very smart move. But for people who doesnt have time or interest to really learn the camera, the phones are great. This lens setup with iphone would be great for my grandma so she could capture flowers in the guarden.
