Very cool Jake, with all the thought and testing you’ll meet your goals.

Thanks it’s getting there. It’s the weekend and I’m hoping to be able to try one more gearing set up to really see it pull for 300 feet which would be awesome right now. It’s doing what it should do in about 100 feet and then it kind of revs out. I’m trying to get the clutches to pull the motor RPMs down, so it’ll pull on the top end.

Take it to a track and time it in 1/8 mile, I need to learn to watch the whole video, Before writing, snowmobile engine, In the 90'S I Built a racing cart with a 440, and made small bell housing to run 55 chevy 3 speed, low to the ground full cage, and police officer friend clocked me 118mph the Power band was amazing.it also had a 5 point harness. they are fun, Now to old.

That sounds awesome. I would love to see the project and especially the Transmission set up. I’ve had this one to 110 mph and it was still pulling hard, but I blew a tire completely into pieces wash control and rolled. It broke a pelvis and a collarbone And it’s been about two years since I’ve pulled this project back out with now having a roll cage and a five point harness in it

Id say leave the plugs lean is mean but your strap shouldnt be tan it could probably benefit a little fatter mixture and possibly a degree or 2 timing to het that pattern further up the plug

If I pull that stater apart, is there slots to be able to adjust that timing on that style motor? I’ve just never adjusted timing on a sled engine?

Whats in that for a Motor, 1000cc 5 speed

It’s just a 94 Polaris RXL 650 triple still running the CVT style clutches, full automatic no Gears that’s the key with this project. It’s just figuring out the gearing and the clutches and the spring rate at which they open and close.
