Great video, roof still progressing plus harvest of olives done! Thank goodness G had her spinach for breakfast, she was matching the guys for lifting the olives to the shoot. As if that’s not enough she was handling all the wood. Everyone needs a G when it comes to heavy lifting!❤

Time just flew in this video. Roof is looking good, not too much longer till completion from the look of your progress so far. HI .....I really enjoy your hard work there ,congrats,you are fixing your new stone house so you have two houses with no interior connection,anyway you have a porch so just imagine if you make a wooden structure with a roof conecting those two doors you can add an extra room making a living room or a kitchen or ever!!!!!!!just an idea ...............big hug for you all!!

we ended up using Shtill hand saw which we use to cut branches !!! we tried everything !!! it's a nightmare as wood wonky ... different size and plus it's hig up .. still not finished but we are nearly done Gx

@@portugalitis Thank you 😊 Yes some things are so slow 🐌 and other things, are like, this should have been done yesturday! I have also noticed that estate agents are so different! Does not seem to be any protocol/standard, they just do what they want! The one we are trying to go through, is very laid back, with very low standards. We still do not know the size of the land, or seen any maps/diagrams etc. Asked but get nothing back! Think we may still be on the hunt 🤔. Like I say to my wife, this is Portugal! So again, this is also normal! I am sure we will get something one day? 🤪

Interesting to see the processing of olives... here in Canada the price of olive oil has gone through the roof [like everything else] so I hope the producers and farmers are reaping some of that $ windfall. P.S. nice to see the roof starting to go up on your house. What a lot of work that must be... [speaking as an old man who was never "handy" to begin with].

So wonderful to have all these skilled neighbours who can do just about anything & helping out each other. Roof progressing well too. Seems you never have time to sit & twiddle thumbs not knowing what next to do hey; at least a wide selection of things to do. And then the olive harvesting, so enjoyed watching this too, and you managed such a wonderful harvest of 1,500kgs in 4 days - must be a speed record vs output. Hope all the neighbours get together on/around Christmas (not far off). Besides the rains, does it snow in winter where you guys are located?

It's a blessing to have them good neighbours and friends :) We got Andrius birthday coming up soon so everyone will be coming for BBQ I am sure ;) We are in central Portugal near penamacor so it doesn't snow during winter ...sadly .. I love snow (As in Lithuania we used to get lovely winters with loads of snow ...) Gx

@@portugalitis Hi G. Yes I so agree with you with regard the blessing of good neighbours & friends. Sounds like fun getting together soon for Andrius' birthday celebration. Sad for you, no snow in winter as what you had in Lithuania; you will have to go visit in December. For the short-term, perhaps consider doing a trip in winter up north in Portugal; I think they do get snow (very cold too I heard) until you can go visit Lithuania in winter. Will we see your worked hard for freshly harvested olive oil or only when you cook again? 🤗🤔

I use that oil everyday when I cook .. I don't use any other oil ..so maybe that's why we use about 40 -45 l of olive oil a year .. I use it for everything ;) I would love to go to top of Estrela to see snow one day .. no need to go to Lithuania ;)

My friends use just 5 l a year .. and when I said I use about 50 .. they looked at me like I am crazy .. But I use oil for sundried tomatoes ... now I will use to marinate dried olives .. I use to marinate meat .. on salads and when cook food in a pan .. and because I cook meals everyday that's why I use that much LOL ... and I definitely not saving it ;) extra drop there or there ... When we will go to Estrella will take you with us ;)

So happy to see your roof going up! Those stabilizing nails/bolts sticking out the side…do they get cut off or are they used for something else? I wonder why we dont see more olive trees planted for the future, since a few seems to die each year, and no better time than now to replenish the dead ones or ones that will need replaced in a few years. I would plant in between each one standing now. Seems like a large distance between the ones that are there now.

The olive harvest seems to be sporadic this year. Some get almost none and others have a nice crop.
