One of the many things I've always loved about Justin's play in Marvel is that his assist character is actually a character he can play. I lost count the number of times 10 years ago that people would be knocked down to Cap or Psylock and just put the controller down or stop really playing. Meanwhile, Justin has complications of Cyclops and Akuma comebacks. Then again, in this new pack I've lost count the number of times I've gone up against MSP, Santhrax, Team Scrub, etc. and beat them down using my Rogue teams. Reminds of any other game where scrubs pick the "top tier" without even understanding the fundamentals and fail over and over at basic decision-making, defense, etc.

This is correct. Even with the likes of having your point, second point, and support, one should be able to know how to play their support characters if they are forced out. Too many people are just a$$ once forced to play with CapCom or Psylocke.

MvC2 is unfortunately one of those games where the power disparity is so vast that its really hard to properly learn the game if you're not playing a great team, not necessarily MSP but some of the powerhouses, both because without them you often just Do Not Engage with certain mechanics(flight and all its jank is standout), and knowing them is important to defending against them, and because if you're practicing live in the ladder or even just casual, you ain't gonna get to do Shit if you're out here with somethin like Ryu/Ken/Guile, ya can't learn a game effectively when you're already playing handicapped, and what you might be able to learn is going to be difficult to actually apply It doesn't stop people from being bad, just like any FG, but MvC2 is definitely standout for demanding you use good characters to learn, because the skill floor needed to stand a chance with worse characters is so high

@@overdose0074 MVC2 is way easier to learn than SFIV if you're not trying for the infinites. I made to to second best in my scene by watching and studying Justin's matches back around 2002-2003. The top tiers are stupidly broken because they're fairly easy to pick up and have easy confirms and punishes. Granted, you may not be able to move around like the pros, but as long as you know how to use your assists to cover you, then cover your assists as they exit, you can do pretty well with only spamming moves to build meter and landing a hit confirm or punish I to a super.
