“Apple stands at the intersection of liberal arts and technology, and we’re proud to have many outstanding MIT graduates on our team,” Cook said in a statement. “We believe deeply that technology can be a powerful force for good, and I’m looking forward to speaking to the Class of 2017 as they look ahead to making their own mark on the world.”
“Mr. Cook’s brilliance as a business leader, his genuineness as a human being, and his passion for issues that matter to our community make his voice one that I know will resonate deeply with our graduates,” MIT President L. Rafael Reif said.

@sugar daddy We thought about it thats why we disagree with you. Being gay does not mean that one is evil or is a pedophile. Since when did your Jesus ever talk about gayness? All he talked about was love. Something your followers are not showing. Might want to re-read your bible and stick with what Jesus actually said and not what you think he should have meant.

They left for professional duty. MIT students are very busy. The end of a speech is the best moment to leave. It is a matter of respect. Those are outliers, the core distribution is still there. If the hate for Tim was statistically significant, he would not be be doing a speech at MIT in the first place.

Steve Jobs and now Tim Cook... they make fun of Microsoft whenever they get a chance! Bill Gates has always been respectful towards everyone including Apple foul mouths! That shows the man's character! Gates has talked less about doing things for humanity but has already contributed billions for humanity! Tim cannot forget Microsoft and Windows even in his noble commencement speech--full of "What you can do for humanity"! That shows his obsession with Microsoft. By the way, even today more than 90% of PC users not just "experiment with" but actually USE Windows PCs to do most of the productive work done on this planet on devices that cost only a fraction of what one has to pay for Apple's beauty queens! Windows work horses, like Microsoft itself, have been derided as "Cheap Plastic Machines" by the Snobs while these cheap machines have silently been running the world! Finally, it was really nice to know that Apple introduced their exorbitantly priced iPods, iPhones, iPads, and Apple Watches with the sole purpose of serving humanity!!

Dashcam Report Not necessarily. He is talking about deep things independent of any particular company when he refers about the graduates lives. Also, Apple is a very hard place to get a job on, and many, many Ivy League graduates don't get a job or get fired because they sometimes feel entitled. But still, he might want the best of them, and that is why he is sharing the experience of working at Apple as something good.

He has every reason to be able to plug Apple. He as a decision maker has helped change the world. He has helped make disability with technology so mainstream, that anyone can use it. He has made a commitment to pushing forward social values that didn't exist anywhere else and as an openly Gay man, Apple had enough faith in him to keep him at the helm during one of the most important times in history.

The incident I'm referring to is the one at Foxconn. They are a parts supplier to Apple, not a vendor for Apple. When someone talks about humanity, but they accept contracts from companies where employees at actively killing themselves due to dire working conditions, its hard not to make note on the hypocrisy. I do want Apple to take responsibility for monitoring and controlling conditions at their parts suppliers. Foxconn was probably the lowest bidder when bids were being taken, but that does not make it okay to use a company that works employees to death so that Apple may increase their bottom line. Conditions have improved at companies who have contracts with Apple. They have taken responsibility to improve conditions just above the point of suicide, but he is still the last person who should be talking about humanity.
